Holy Cross Church, Boston
The Church of the Holy Cross (1803-ca.1862) was located on Franklin Street in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1808 the church became the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. It was designed by Charles Bulfinch and was the first church built for the city's Roman Catholics. The last Mass was celebrated there on September 16, 1860. Demolition took place around 1862. The cathedral was replaced by a new Cathedral of the Holy Cross located in the South End. Wigglesworth Building
The Wigglesworth Building is a historic building at 89-83 Franklin Street in the Financial District of Boston, Massachusetts. The five-story Neo-Gothic Panel Brick building was constructed in 1873, and was one of the first buildings rebuilt after the Great Boston Fire of 1872.''Victorian Boston today: twelve walking tours'', by Mary Melvin Petronella. Edward W. Gordon, p. 57, Designed by Nathaniel Bradlee of Bradlee, Winslow & Wetherell, it features a curving red panel brick front with detailed sandstone panels. The top floor, added in 1885, is set back from the main facade and features arched windows. It was apparently designed by Peabody & Stearns, who did design work for the building after an 1884 fire. State Street Bank Building
State Street Bank Building, also known as 225 Franklin Street, is a high-rise office building located in the Financial District, Boston, Massachusetts. The building stands at with 33 floors and was completed in 1966. It is tied with 33 Arch Street as the 20th-tallest building in Boston. The architectural firm who designed the building was F.A. Stahl & Associates. State Street Bank Building was one of the first skyscrapers to be built in Boston after the completion of the Prudential Tower in 1964. The building gained its name from the prominent "State Street Bank" lettering present at the top of the building for many years, although the sign has since been taken down. A similar "State Street" sign was subsequently placed at One Lincoln Street. In 2009, Fish & Richardson agreed to lease space in One Marina Park in South Boston as its new headquarters and abandon its current headquarters at the State Street Bank Building. Abram French (1815–1884) was a crockery, glassware, and china dealer in 19th-century Boston, Massachusetts. The Boston Library Society was an American subscription library established in New England's pre-eminent city, Boston, during 1792. Early subscribers included Revolutionary War figures Paul Revere and William Tudor.
