Frank Abrego
Frank Alexis Abrego Mendoza (born 16 January 1963) is the founder of the Republic of Panama 's border patrol agency, SENAFRONT. He was succeeded by director general Cristian Hayer in 2016. Career Abrego was appointed director general of the Republic of Panama 's border patrol agency, SENAFRONT, by then President Martin Torrijos. He was the only service chief retained by President Ricardo Martinelli and thus far SENAFRONT 's longest serving leader. During his term in office, Abrego maintained generally positive relations with the United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) and counterpart agencies in neighboring Colombia and Costa Rica. Local and international media widely regarded Abrego as a highly influential figure in the Darien Province, where many SENAFRONT operations are based. Los Santos Province
Los Santos () is a province in Panama, reaching from the La Villa river in the North to the Pacific Ocean in the south and east. It is part of the Azuero Peninsula, bounded by the province of Herrera to the north and northeast, and by Mariato District of Veraguas Province to the West. Omar Torrijos
Omar Efraín Torrijos Herrera (February 13, 1929 – July 31, 1981) was the Commander of the Panamanian National Guard and military leader of Panama from 1968 to his death in 1981. Torrijos was never officially the president of Panama, but instead held titles including "Maximum Leader of the Panamanian Revolution". Torrijos took power in a ''coup d'état'' and instituted a number of social reforms. Torrijos is best known for negotiating the 1977 Torrijos–Carter Treaties that eventually gave Panama full sovereignty over the Panama Canal. The two treaties guaranteed that Panama would gain control of the Panama Canal after 1999, ending the control of the canal that the U.S. had exercised since 1903.
