''Four Winds'' is the sixth studio album by the rock band The Lightning Seeds. It was released in 2009 through Universal. The record is the band's first album of new tracks since 1999. The first single, "Ghosts", was released on 11 May 2009. The Lightning Seeds (also known as Lightning Seeds) are an English Rock music, rock band formed in Liverpool in 1989 by Ian Broudie (vocals, guitar, producer), formerly of the bands Big in Japan (band), Big in Japan, Care (band), Care, and Original Mirrors. Originally a studio-based solo project for Broudie, the Lightning Seeds expanded into a touring band following ''Jollification'' (1994). Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. Ian Broudie
Ian Zachary Broudie (born 4 August 1958) is an English musician and singer-songwriter from Liverpool. After emerging from the post-punk scene in Liverpool in the late 1970s as a member of Big in Japan, Broudie went on to produce albums (sometimes under the name Kingbird) for artists including Echo & the Bunnymen, the Fall, the Coral, the Zutons and the Subways. Around 1989, he began writing and recording under the name Lightning Seeds, releasing the album '' Cloudcuckooland'' through Rough Trade on the independent label Ghetto Records, eventually putting together a live touring band in 1994. The Lightning Seeds achieved great commercial success during much of the 1990s. In 2004, Broudie released an album titled '' Tales Told'' under his own name. ''The Very Best of The Lightning Seeds'' is the second official greatest hits album by British alternative rock band The Lightning Seeds. It was released on 12 June 2006, peaking at number 33 on the UK Album Chart. The compilation is essentially an update of the group's first greatest hits album 1997's '' Like You Do... Best of The Lightning Seeds''. The compilations share 12 tracks between them. ''The Very Best'' drops the group's third single "All I Want" and replaces the original recording of "Three Lions" with the 1998 re-recording. Simon Rogers is an English musician, record producer, and BAFTA and EMMY nominated composer, who has been a member of The Fall and The Lightning Seeds. Biography In 1976, Rogers entered the Royal College of Music, London, later becoming an associate (ARCM) and winning their guitar prize in 1980. Stephen Harris (producer)
Stephen Harris (born 1968 in Shifnal) is an English record producer, mixer, and audio engineer. He has worked with major rock and pop artists, including Dave Matthews Band, Ben Kweller, The Wombats, and Kaiser Chiefs. Early life and career Stephen Harris was born in 1968 in Shifnal, Shropshire, England. He developed an early interest in music production and, at the age of 16, began his career as a tape operator at Zella Studios in Birmingham. Over time, he progressed to the roles of engineer and mixer, gaining experience working across musical genres. The Coral are an English rock band, formed in 1996 in Hoylake on the Wirral Peninsula, Merseyside. The band emerged during the early 2000s.
