''Forever Man'' is a compilation album by the British rock musician Eric Clapton and was released through Reprise Records. Release The pre-order for the compilation album started on March 17, 2015, through the official Eric Clapton website. When ordering the 3-CD and LP-version of the release, a T-shirt with the album's cover, a cup and an 18″ × 24″ lithograph was also available for purchase. On the first day of the album announcement more than 37,000 copies were pre-ordered. With the total pre-order sales being added up, ''Forever Man'' reached position ten on the American pre-order chart. Until the actual release in the United States of the album on 28 April 2015, the compilation was pre-ordered more than 151,000 times. Eric Patrick Clapton (born 1945) is an English Rock music, rock and blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He is regarded as one of the most successful and influential guitarists in rock music. Clapton ranked second in ''Rolling Stone''s list of the "Top 100 Greatest Guitar Players of all Time, 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" and fourth in Gibson (guitar company), Gibsons "Top 50 Guitarists of All Time". The album was produced by Eric Clapton with Simon Climie and is Clapton's first album to include keyboard work by Billy Preston and background vocals by the Impressions. ''Behind the Sun'' is the ninth solo studio album by Eric Clapton, released on 11 March 1985 by Duck Records / Warner Bros. Records. It is Clapton's first collaborative project with Phil Collins who co-produced the album and played on some of the tracks. While recording the album Clapton temporarily split with his wife. Background and recording After nearly a decade of Clapton's guitar playing taking a backseat to his singing/songwriting, this album contains several guitar solos. The album includes synthesizers and drum machines played by Phil Collins, Ted Templeman, Peter Robinson, Michael Omartian, James Newton Howard, Chris Stainton and Greg Phillinganes, as well as Clapton's Roland guitar synthesizer on "Never Make You Cry". Jerry Lynn Williams (October 30, 1948 – November 25, 2005) was an American rock music singer and composer. He wrote such hits as " Forever Man", " See What Love Can Do", " Something's Happening", " Running on Faith" and " Pretending" for Eric Clapton. Life Williams was born in Dallas, Texas. Discography He contributed two songs, " Real Man" and " I Will Not Be Denied", to Bonnie Raitt's 1989 album '' Nick of Time''. Wilbur Herschel Jennings (June 27, 1944 – September 6, 2024) was an American lyricist. He was known for writing the songs " Up Where We Belong", " Higher Love", " Tears in Heaven" and "My Heart Will Go On".
