Count Of Holland
The counts of Holland ruled over the County of Holland in the Low Countries between the 10th and the 16th century. The Frisian origins While the Frisian kingdom had comprised most of the present day Netherlands, the later province of Friesland in the Netherlands was much reduced. Already in the early Middle Ages West-Frisia (Frisia west of the Vlie) was not considered to be a part of Frisia anymore, and came to be known as Holland (present day provinces North and South Holland and Zeeland). Floris II was the first count who restyled his name from count of "West-Frisia", in count of "Holland". Frisia Proper in medieval time therefore only included the middle and eastern part. The middle part (corresponding to the present day Dutch province of Friesland) was populated by free peasants who successfully resisted all attempts by feudal lords to subdue them, mainly the counts of Holland and the bishops of Utrecht. Floris Maarten Alphons Maria Evers (born 26 February 1983 in Tilburg, North Brabant) is a field hockey player from the Netherlands, who won the silver medal with the Dutch national team at the Field hockey at the 2004 Summer Olympics, 2004 Summer Olympics and at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He was the captain of the team at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He has played in all the top leagues the world of field hockey. Floris Nollet (16 September 1794 – 11 January 1853) was a Belgian physicist, engineer, inventor. Nollet was a grandnephew of Jean-Antoine Nollet. Floris van Montmorency, baron of Montigny (?, 1528 - Simancas, 14 October 1570) was a noble and diplomat from the Spanish Netherlands. He was born as the son of Jozef van Montmorency, Count of Nevele and Anna van Egmont the Elder, and was the younger brother of Philip de Montmorency, Count of Horn. Floris had a military training at the court of his relative Anne de Montmorency, Constable of France. He accompanied Emperor Charles V to Spain after his abdication. At his return, Floris became a Knight in the Order of the Golden Fleece with the support of William the Silent and against the wishes of Philip II of Spain. He was also appointed as Governor of the Tournaisis. As the rest of the high nobility in Flanders, Floris was a strong opponent to Cardinal Granvelle. Floris Kaayk (born 1982) is a Dutch digital artist. He grew up in Tiel as the son of artist couple Coen and Guusje Kaayk. Floris Jespers (18 March 1889 in Borgerhout – 16 April 1965 in Antwerp) was a Belgian Avant-garde painter. After his graduation from the Antwerp Academy of Fine Arts, he hooked up with the poet Paul Van Ostaijen and joined the Antwerp avant-garde movement of the 1920s. He contributed to the publications '' Ça Ira'', ''Le Centaure'' and ''Sélection'' and befriended Jean Metzinger and Albert Gleizes when they published ''Du Cubisme''. Floris Adriaan van Hall, Baron of Hall (15 May 1791 – 29 March 1866) was a nobleman and statesman from the Netherlands in the 19th century. He played an important role as representative of the Amsterdam trade and banking sector, and later as politician. He served as Prime Minister of the Netherlands from 1853 to 1856, and again from 1860 to 1861. Family Van Hall was born in Amsterdam, on 15 May 1791. After the death of his mother, his father had ten more children with her niece Christina Maria.
