Floris Evers
Floris Maarten Alphons Maria Evers (born 26 February 1983 in Tilburg, North Brabant) is a field hockey player from the Netherlands, who won the silver medal with the Dutch national team at the Field hockey at the 2004 Summer Olympics, 2004 Summer Olympics and at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He was the captain of the team at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He has played in all the top leagues the world of field hockey. After the London Olympics, along with Teun de Noijer, he retired from international hockey. In 2013, he played with the Ranchi Rhinos in the Indian hockey league. Club career He played most of his career for Amsterdamsche Hockey & Bandy Club, Amsterdam where he announced his retirement in 2015. Since 2006, Evers had been playing at Amsterdam, with which he became the national champion in 2011 and 2012. 2011 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship
The 2011 Men's EuroHockey Championship was the 13th edition of the EuroHockey Nations Championship, the biennial international men's field hockey championship of Europe organized by the European Hockey Federation. It was held from 20 to 28 August 2011 in Mönchengladbach, Germany. This tournament also served as a qualifier for the 2012 Olympics, with the finalists and the team finishing in third position earning a spot. However, because England finished in the top three, the fourth team (Belgium) qualified instead, as England cannot qualify as a nation for the Olympics (they automatically participated as Great Britain). The hosts Germany won its seventh title by defeating the Netherlands 4–2 in the final. The defending champions England won the bronze medal by defeating Belgium 2–1. Stichtsche Cricket en Hockey Club, commonly known as SCHC, is a Dutch professional sports club based in Bilthoven, Utrecht. The club was founded on 22 November 1906. The club is best known for its field hockey department but it also has a rugby union and a cricket section. The first men's hockey team played in de the second division until the 2020–21 season called the Promotieklasse after being relegated in the 2018–19 season. Ranchi Rhinos was a professional field hockey team based in Ranchi, Jharkhand, that played in the Hockey India League. The team won the inaugural season of Hockey India League defeating Delhi Waveriders by 2-1. It was owned by Patel-Uniexcel Group. South African Gregg Clark was the head coach for the team, assisted by Baljit Singh Saini. German midfielder, two time Olympic champion, Moritz Fürste is the captain of the team. Field Hockey
Field hockey (or simply referred to as hockey in some countries where ice hockey is not popular) is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with 11 players in total, made up of 10 field players and a goalkeeper. Teams must move a hockey ball around a field by hitting it with a field hockey stick, hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal (sports), goal.
