Flintshire () is a county in the north-east of Wales. It borders the Irish Sea to the north, the Dee Estuary to the north-east, the English county of Cheshire to the east, Wrexham County Borough to the south, and Denbighshire to the west. Connah's Quay is the largest town, and Flintshire County Council is based in Ewloe. The county covers , with a population of 155,000 in 2021. After Connah's Quay (16,771), the largest settlements are Flint (13,736), Buckley (16,127) and Mold (10,123). The east of the county is industrialised and contains the Deeside conurbation, which extends into Cheshire and has a population of 53,568. The adjacent coast is also home to industry, but further west has been developed for tourism, particularly at Talacre. North Wales (Senedd Electoral Region)
North Wales () is an electoral region of the Senedd, consisting of nine United Kingdom constituencies, constituencies. The region elects thirteen members, nine directly elected constituency members and four Mixed member proportional representation, additional members. The electoral region was first used in the 1999 National Assembly for Wales election, 1999 Welsh Assembly election, when the National Assembly for Wales was created. Jack Sargeant (born 1994) is a Welsh Labour Party politician serving as Minister for Culture, Skills and Social Partnership since July 2024, and a Member of the Senedd (MS). He represents the Alyn and Deeside constituency, where he succeeded his father Carl Sargeant following the February 2018 by-election. Background Sargeant was born in Rhuddlan in 1994 and attended Connah's Quay High School.
