Fishers Freight
The Fishers Freight are a professional indoor football team based in the Indianapolis metropolitan area that competes in the Indoor Football League (IFL). The Freight will began play in 2025 at the Fishers Event Center. They are owned by Jim Hallett, owner of the ECHL's Indy Fuel. The Freight are the third arena/indoor football team to play in the Indianapolis area, following the Indiana Firebirds of the original Arena Football League (2001–2004) and the Indianapolis Enforcers of various leagues (2010–2012, 2018–2022). History 2023–2024: Founding In October 2023, the Indoor Football League officially announced a new expansion team for Indianapolis, Indiana to play in 2025. The team was awarded to owner Jim Hallett, owner of the East Coast Hockey League's Indy Fuel. On December 15, 2023, the team was officially named the Fishers Freight. The Indy Ignite are a women's professional indoor volleyball team based in the Indianapolis metropolitan area that competes in the Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF). The team plays its home games at Fishers Event Center. The Ignite began play as an expansion team in the 2025 season. History Founding On December 7, 2023, the Pro Volleyball Federation announced that an expansion team was coming to Indianapolis, Indiana. On January 28, 2024, the ownership group of Indy Pro Volleyball publicly released the name and logo for Indiana's first professional volleyball team. The Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF) is a women's professional indoor volleyball league in the United States. The league was announced on November 17, 2022, and began play in 2024. History Development The Pro Volleyball Federation was announced in November 2022 as a new professional women's league that focused on giving American players access to high level volleyball at home while also making a livable wage. The founders of the league include Super Bowl winning quarterback Trent Dilfer along with volleyball pioneers Cecile Reynaud and Laurie Corbelli. The league was initially expected to include ten teams but the league would lower the number to eight in later reports. The first franchise was awarded to a team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Indianapolis Enforcers are a professional indoor American football, indoor football team based in Noblesville, Indiana. The team was originally a member of the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) and played in Indianapolis. The Enforcers joined the CIFL in 2011 as an expansion team. Fishers Event Center
The Fishers Event Center is an arena in Fishers, Indiana. It is owned by the City of Fishers. The arena is the new home of the Indy Fuel of the ECHL. As well as the Fuel, Fishers Event Center hosts the Indy Ignite of the Pro Volleyball Federation, the Fishers Freight of the Indoor Football League, concerts, and high school graduations.
