The state of Indiana is home to two major professional sport franchises, and a number of college sports teams. Indiana is also prominent in auto racing. The American Basketball Association (ABA) was a major professional basketball league that operated for nine seasons from 1967 to 1976. Lucas Oil Stadium
Lucas Oil Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in downtown Indianapolis, downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It replaced the RCA Dome as the home field of the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). It opened on August 16, 2008. The RCA Dome (originally Hoosier Dome) was a domed stadium in Indianapolis. It was the home of the Indianapolis Colts NFL franchise for 24 seasons (1984–2007). It was completed at a cost of $77.5 million, as part of the Indiana Convention Center, with the costs split between private and public money. Dayton Triangles
The Dayton Triangles were an original franchise of the American Professional Football Association (now the National Football League (NFL)) in 1920. The Triangles were based in Dayton, Ohio, and took their nickname from their home field, Triangle Park, which was located at the confluence of the Great Miami and Stillwater Rivers in north Dayton. The American Football Conference (AFC) is one of the two conferences of the National Football League (NFL), the highest level of professional American football in the United States.
