First Tower United F.C.
First Tower United F.C. is a football club based on the Channel Island of Jersey. They are affiliated to the Jersey Football Association and play in the Jersey Football Combination Premiership. The club plays in white and blue. They were the second most successful club in the island after Jersey Wanderers, having won the Jersey League 19 times. History The club was founded in 1920 and won their first championship in 1927. This entitled them to take on the winners of the Guernsey Priaulx League, Northerners A.C. in the Upton Park Trophy, though they lost 1–0. They won the championship again in 1929 and this time followed it up by winning the Upton Park Trophy, beating Northerners 2–1 after extra time. Jersey Football Combination
The Jersey Football Combination is the senior football league on the island of Jersey and is run by the Jersey Football Association. Although the league is affiliated with the English FA, it does not form a part of the English football league system. Each year, the league champion plays the champions of Guernsey's Priaulx League for the Upton Park Trophy. History Originally, the Jersey Football Combination consisted of five divisions, with the Premiership and Championship open to first teams, with separate leagues for reserve sides. However, from the start of the 2015-16 season all first-team sides play in the Premiership, with a mid-season split into two divisions. The Football Association Challenge Vase, usually referred to as the FA Vase, is an annual football competition for teams playing in Steps 5 and 6 of the English National League System (or equivalently, tier 9 or 10 of the overall English football league system). For the 2017–18 season 619 entrants were accepted, with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals (played over two legs) and final to be played at Wembley Stadium. Floodlights (sport)
A floodlight is a broad-beamed, high-intensity artificial light. They are often used to illuminate outdoor playing fields while an outdoor sports event is being held during low-light conditions. More focused kinds are often used as a stage lighting instrument in live performances such as concerts and plays. In the top tiers of many professional sports, it is a requirement for stadiums to have floodlights to allow games to be scheduled outside daylight hours. Evening or night matches may suit spectators who have work or other commitments earlier in the day, and enable television broadcasts during lucrative primetime hours. 'Warming up' is a part of stretching and preparation for physical exertion or a performance by exercising or practicing gently beforehand, usually undertaken before a performance or practice. St Peter (; Jèrriais: ) is one of the twelve parishes of Jersey in the Channel Islands. It is around north-west of St Helier. The parish has a population of 5,003. It has a surface area of . Non-League football describes association football, football leagues played outside the top leagues of a country. Usually, it describes leagues which are not fully professional. Jack Walker (19 May 1929 – 17 August 2000) was a British industrialist and businessman. Walker built his fortune in the steel industry, amassing a personal fortune of £600 million. He then went on to become the owner and benefactor of Blackburn Rovers Football Club, winning the 1994–95 FA Premier League under his guidance.
