Naisten Korisliiga
Naisten Korisliiga (Women's Basketball League) is the highest tier of women's basketball in Finland. The competition was formerly known as Koripallon naisten SM-sarja (Women's Basketball Finnish Championship) and was renamed Naisten Korisliiga for the 2013-14 season. History Women's Finnish Championship was first introduced in 1944. The first championship was won by Helsingin Tarmo. In the 1940s, the league had six teams and the title was awarded after the regular season. In 1953 the number of teams was raised to ten. Makar Suntsev
Makar Suntsev (born 4 October 2004) is a Finnish figure skater. Born in Russia, he is the 2024 Finnish Champion, a two-time Finnish national silver medalist (2022, 2023), and a two-time bronze medalist at the Nordic Championship bronze medalist (2023 and 2024). Personal life Suntsev was born on October 4, 2004 in Perm, Russia. He also has an older sister. At the age of five, Suntsev moved with his family to Kotka, Finland. Single Skating
Single skating is a discipline of figure skating in which male and female skaters compete individually. Men's singles and women's singles are governed by the International Skating Union (ISU). Figure skating is the oldest winter sport contested at the Olympics, with men's and women's single skating appearing as two of the four figure skating events at the London Games in 1908. Filippo Clerici (born 7 March 2001) is an Italian pair skating, pair skater who currently competes for Finland. With his former skating partner, Milania Väänänen, he is the 2023 CS Golden Spin of Zagreb, 2023 Golden Spin of Zagreb gold medalist, Tayside Trophy, 2023 Tayside Trophy bronze medalist, and three-time Finnish Figure Skating Championships, Finnish national champion (2023–25). Milania Kristiina Väänänen (born 29 November 2003) is a Finnish pair skater. With her former skating partner, Filippo Clerici, she is the 2023 CS Golden Spin gold medalist, 2023 Tayside Trophy bronze medalist, and three-time Finnish national champions (2023–25). As a single skater, Väänänen is the 2019 Finnish junior national silver medalist. Personal life Väänänen was born on 29 November 2003 in Lahti, Finland. Her mother is half-Russian/half- Ukrainian. Pair skating is a figure skating discipline defined by the International Skating Union (ISU) as "the skating of two persons in unison who perform their movements in such harmony with each other as to give the impression of genuine Pair Skating as compared with independent Single Skating".S&P/ID 2021, p. 109 The ISU also states that a pairs team consists of "one Woman and one Man". Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. It joined the World Figure Skating Championships in 1952, and became a Winter Olympic Games medal sport in 1976. The Finnish Figure Skating Championships () are held annually to crown the national champions of Finland.
