Filsports Basketball Association
Filsports Basketball Association (FBA) was a regional grassroots amateur basketball league based in the Philippines, aiming to discover young and talented basketball players from the provinces and regions. Formed in January 2015, by a group of basketball stakeholders including former Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel player Vince Hizon and LJ Serrano, the FBA is sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas in accordance to the FIBA rules. The opening of the inaugural conference of the FBA was commenced on January 24, 2015, at the Malolos Sports Complex in Bulacan, consisting of the exhibition game between the PBA Legends and the Malolos Agilas team. The inaugural conference is consisting of 8 teams, including the Foton Tornadoes, the first franchise team of the FBA. Vince Hizon
Vicente Paul Bowie Hizon (born November 25, 1970) is an American-born Filipino retired professional basketball player. He is the former commissioner of the Filsports Basketball Association. FBA, a community-based grassroots basketball league in the Philippines. He is currently a motivational speaker while focusing on family and business. Biography Vince Hizon was born 25 November 1970 to José Palma-Gil Hizon and Harriet M. Bowie in Orange County, California. The Hizon-Palma Gil family has roots in Davao Oriental province and Davao City in the Philippines. Andres Paul C. Desiderio (born February 2, 1997) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Abra Solid North Weavers of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). Previously played for the Blackwater Bossing of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), he was also a former collegiate star player for the UP Fighting Maroons. Early life and high school career Desiderio was born in Liloan, Cebu. He started playing basketball at the age of eight. The team won four championships in the Republica Cup in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2018.
