Saturn
Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second largest in the Solar System, after Jupiter. It is a gas giant, with an average radius of about 9 times that of Earth. It has an eighth the average density of Earth, but is over 95 times more massive. Even though Saturn is almost as big as Jupiter, Saturn has less than a third its mass. 85D/Boethin
Comet Boethin (officially 85D/Boethin) was a periodic Jupiter-family comet discovered in 1975 by Leo Boethin. It appeared again in January 1986 as expected. Although the comet was next expected at perihelion in April 1997, no observations were reported, and the comet is thought to have disintegrated. It has not been observed since March 1986. The comet might have come to perihelion in late July 2020, but the uncertainty in the comet's position is hundreds of millions of km. The old orbit would have the comet next coming to perihelion around November 2031. Discovery circumstances The comet was discovered under unusual circumstances. Comet 85D/Boethin was the first comet discovered by an observer in the Philippines. Astronomical Naming Conventions
In ancient times, only the Sun and Moon, a few stars, and the most easily visible planets had names. Over the last few hundred years, the number of identified astronomical objects has risen from hundreds to over a billion, and more are discovered every year. Astronomers need to be able to assign systematic designations to unambiguously identify all of these objects, and at the same time give names to the most interesting objects, and where relevant, features of those objects. Mount Pinatubo
Mount Pinatubo is an active stratovolcano in the Zambales Mountains in Luzon in the Philippines. 28439 Miguelreyes (provisional designation ) is a background asteroid from the central region of the asteroid belt, approximately 3.9 kilometers in diameter. The asteroid was discovered on 3 January 2000, by the LINEAR team at Lincoln Lab's ETS in Socorro, New Mexico, United States. It was named for Filipino student Miguel Reyes, a 2011 ISEF awardee. Orbit and classification Miguelreyes is a non-family from the main belt's background population. It orbits the Sun in the central asteroid belt at a distance of 2.5–3.0 AU once every 4 years and 7 months (1,679 days). Josette Biyo
Josette Talamera Biyo (born March 19, 1958) is a Filipina biologist and academic administrator who served as executive director of the Philippine Science High School System from 2011 to 2014. She has received international recognition for her contributions to science and education. Early life and academics Josette Biyo was born on March 19, 1958, in Januiay, Iloilo. She earned her bachelor's degree in biological sciences from the University of the Philippines Visayas in Miagao, intending to continue to medical school. Instead, she took a teaching post and afterward earned a Ph.D. in biology from De La Salle University in Manila. Her dissertation examined seagrass community dynamics on Guimaras Island.
