Filardi House
The Filardi House (), also known as Casa Muñoz (), is a historic house with ground-level commercial space in Yauco, Puerto Rico. It is notable for the extensive use of concrete sculptural ornamentation on its facade. Italian immigrant Vicente Filardi, a contractor with business in Ponce and Yauco, designed and built the house in 1916 with his sons Juan Bautista and Domingo. The younger Filardis were responsible for the integration of the elaborate decorative features with the overall Beaux-Arts plan, and later came to be recognized as experts in production of ornamental elements of cast concrete. Carmelo Filardi
Carmelo Filardi (1900–1989) was a Puerto Rican artist of Italian ancestry. He was a cartoonist who had his work published in Puerto Rico's newspaper starting in 1927. He was from Yauco, Puerto Rico and his parents were born in Italy. Filardi specialized in satire and journalistic criticism. To do this, he used depictions of average daily life in Puerto Rico to illustrate his thoughts. He was a caricaturist and his work is included in University of Puerto Rico collections. His first published cartoon in ''El Mundo'' was in 1927. In 1947, he published a book called ''Un año de historia en caricaturas'', which contained a selection of his works from 1946 to 1947. In 1971, he published a book called . The book contained a collection of his works from 1948-1963. Alex Llompart (Alexander Gabriel Llompart Filardi) (born May 5, 1990) is a professional male tennis player from Puerto Rico. Llompart reached his highest individual ranking on the ATP Tour on December 23, 2013, when he became World number 725. He reached his highest doubles ranking on July 21, 2014, when he became World number 232.
