Fighting With Wire
Fighting with Wire (or FWW) were an alternative heavy rock and punk band hailing from Derry, Northern Ireland. They have toured with Biffy Clyro, Million Dead, Reuben, Twin Atlantic, yourcodenameis:milo, Kerbdog, Helmet, You Me At Six, Nomeansno, InMe, Brigade, Against Me!, Seafood, and Coheed and Cambria. They have also played at the Glasgowbury Festival and Belsonic. History Formed in late 2003, the band has gone through considerable changes, notably going through 5 different bassists. The band is influenced by such bands as At the Drive-In, Nirvana, Weezer and Fugazi. Machine Parts was their first single and a video was made for its promotion. Fighting with Wire have appeared on numerous Public Service Broadcast editions from Smalltown America. Derry
Derry, officially Londonderry, is the second-largest City status in the United Kingdom, city in Northern Ireland, and the fifth-largest on the island of Ireland. Nomeansno (sometimes stylized as NoMeansNo or spelled No Means No) was a Canadian punk rock band formed in Victoria, British Columbia, and later relocated to Vancouver. They released 11 albums, including a The Sky Is Falling and I Want My Mommy, collaborative album with Jello Biafra, and numerous EPs and singles. Nerve Centre
Nerve Centre is a Northern Ireland creative media arts centre. It was established in 1990 in Derry, Northern Ireland. Since 1999, the Nerve Centre has been based in a purpose-built multimedia arts centre along Derry's walls with a live performance venue, café, rehearsal space, recording facilities, video editing suites and animation studios. The film and animation work of the centre has received a number of international awards, including an Oscar nomination for the short film, ''Dance, Lexie, Dance'' in 1998 and a BAFTA nomination for the animated short, ''The Crumblegiant'' in 2008. Fugazi (; ) is an American post-hardcore band formed in Washington, D.C., in 1986. At the Drive-In was an American post-hardcore band from El Paso, Texas, formed in 1994. The band's most recent line-up consisted of Cedric Bixler-Zavala (vocals), Omar Rodríguez-López (guitar, vocals), Paul Hinojos (bass), Tony Hajjar (drums) and Keeley Davis (guitar, vocals). After several early line-up changes, the band solidified into a five-piece, consisting of Bixler-Zavala, Rodríguez-López, Jim Ward (musician), Jim Ward, Hinojos and Hajjar. At the Drive-In released three studio albums and five extended play, EPs before breaking up in 2001. Belsonic
Belsonic is an annual outdoor music festival held in Belfast during the month of June. The festival, organised by Shine Productions, started in 2008, and when it began was held in Custom House Square in August. The festival later moved to Ormeau Park, and now happens in June, taking place over several weeks. The festival has hosted international acts including Lizzo, Lionel Richie, Shania Twain, Sting, and Blondie. The Glasgowbury Music Festival was an annual music festival held in Draperstown, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland running from 2000 - 2013. History The Glasgowbury Music Festival made its first appearance in the summer of 2000 as a gathering of local bands, acts and showcases to raise awareness for the local charity, the Ulster Cancer Foundation. Coheed and Cambria is an American progressive rock band from Nyack, New York, formed in 1995. It consists of Claudio Sanchez (vocals, guitars, keyboards), Travis Stever (guitars, vocals), Josh Eppard (drums, keyboards, backing vocals), and Zach Cooper (bass, backing vocals). Seafood were a UK band formed in London around 1996. The line-up included chief songwriter David Line (vocals, guitar), Caroline Banks (drum kit, drums and backing vocals) and Kevin Penney (guitars) who joined the band following the departure of founder-member Charles MacLeod. bass guitar, Bassist and founder member Kevin Hendrick left the group to join Pre (band), Pre/Male Bonding (band), Male Bonding following the recording of their fourth album ''Paper Crown King'' in 2006, and was not permanently replaced.
