Fifth Colvmn Records was founded in 1990 by Zalman Fishman, with vocalist Jared Louche employed as general manager, and was recognized for its industrial music roster. The label made its debut with an EP, titled ''10 Ton Pressure'', by the industrial rock group Chemlab Chemlab is an American industrial rock band formed in Washington D.C. in 1989 by Dylan Thomas More, Joe Frank, and Jared Louche (then known as Hendrickson). Influenced by the pioneers of the industrial genre, such as Throbbing Gristle, Cheml ... and in 1993 released the band's critically acclaimed studio album '' Burn Out at the Hydrogen Bar''. Zalman Fishman
Fifth Colvmn Records was a record label based in Washington, DC. The label was founded in 1990 by Zalman Fishman, owner of the nightclub FIFTH COLVMN, located in Washington D.C. The label's first release was Chemlab's debut EP Ten Ton Pressure. Jared Hendrickson of Chemlab also became the general manager for the label. Chemlab later played several dates with Nine Inch Nails, eventually attracting a distribution deal for their next release, Burn Out at the Hydrogen Bar, with Metal Blade Records. The band Thud was the next artist to join the label. Heavy, loud and unrelenting, Thud became very popular amongst Metal fans and critics alike luring Eli Janney from Girls Against Boys to contribute to their debut record Life & Death and earning co-headling performances with Stone Temple Pilots. ''Blue'' is the debut studio album by Oxygiene 23, released on April 11, 1995, by Fifth Colvmn Records. Music Prior to releasing ''Blue'', the band had recorded the song "Sacrifice" and released it to Invisible Records for their compilation ''Can You See It Yet?''. The album's theme is inspired by mythology and its music informed by new-age and trance music, with wind instrument performances recorded by Christopher Hall of Stabbing Westward and Mars Williams of The Waitresses. After the album was released the song "Good for You" was included on the various artist compilation ''Forced Cranial Removal'' by Fifth Colvmn Records. Oxygiene 23 were an American trance music group based out of Chicago, Illinois. The nucleus of the band comprised keyboardist Van Christie, vocalist Jane Jensen and wind player and percussionist Jim Marcus. The theme of the band's somber compositions was informed by mythology and new-age music. The band released one studio album titled ''Blue'' in 1995 for Fifth Colvmn Records. ''Max M Corporation'' is the second studio album by Max M, released on January 1, 1994 on Hard Records. On April 18, 1995 Fifth Colvmn Records reissued ''Max M Corporation'' with alternate cover art. Music The compositions of ''Max M Corporation'' are intended to share the mood generated by the graphic novel contained on the album's multimedia CD-ROM. Both CD issues contain the novel and can be accessed using a IBM PC compatible computer. Max M was the music project of composer Max Møller Rasmussen, based in Odense, Denmark. He released two albums studio albums for Hard Records titled '' Technology Is God'' and '' Max M Corporation'', respectively released in 1992 and 1994. History Max M was founded by Danish composer Max Møller Rasmussen in as a solo outlet for his work.
