Fathimath Saudha
Fathimath Saudha () is a Maldivian politician who is currently serving as the member of parliament for Nilandhoo constituency since 2024. Early life and education Saudha was born in Maafannu, Malé. She is the younger sister of president Mohamed Muizzu. She obtained her Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Mysore, and her master's degree in clinic and counselling psychology from Coventry University. Career Saudha started her political career in 2009 in the Adhaalath Party (AP) as a member of the party's Women's Committee. She later left AP and joined the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) in 2015 after the two party's coalition ended. In 2016, she was appointed as the Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Health. Saudha also worked as an Assistant Psychologist and a part time lecturer at Avid College and the Maldives National University. People's Majlis
The People's Majlis ( dv, ރައްޔިތުންގެ މަޖިލިސް; ''Rayyithunge Majilis'') is the unicameral legislative body of Maldives. The Majlis has the authority to enact, amend and revise laws, as outlined in the Constitution of the Maldives. The Majlis is composed of 87 members as of 2019. Each year on the last Thursday of February, the Majlis is opened by the President of the Maldives. During the opening ceremony, the president outlines his policies and achievements in his presidential term. The annual budget of the state is also passed by the Majlis. The working language of the Majlis is Dhivehi. History A council was set up by Sultan Muhammad Shamsuddeen III to draft the constitution of the Maldives on 9 March 1931. Mohamed Muizzu ( dv, ޑރ. މުޙައްމަދު މުޢިއްޒު; born 15 June 1978) is a Maldivian politician who is currently serving as president of the Maldives since 17 November 2023. He was selected for his party's nomination after former president Abdulla Yameen was jailed for serious corruption charges. He was chosen as his successor since Abdulla Yameen was ineligible to run for elections. He served as Housing Minister under President Waheed Hassan and Abdulla Yameen, and was serving Mayor of Malé before being nominated as the People's National Congress candidate for the 2023 presidential election, in which he defeated then-president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. Raajje TV is an television channel based in the Maldives, known for its news coverage, entertainment programs, and cultural content.
