Fagernes (Narvik)
Fagernes ( se, Čoalbmi) is a suburb of Narvik in Nordland county, Norway. Fagernes lies on the north side of Beis Fjord just southeast of Narvik and north of Ankenesstranda (Ankenes). Today Fagernes is best known as the terminus of the Ofoten Line. The Ofoten Line has its terminus at the Fagernes terminal, a large industrial area of Fagernes. History In the 1800s there was a large farm called ''Fagernes gård'' 'Fagernes farm' where Fagernes stands today. The farm was the largest and wealthiest in the inner part of the Ofoten district, which later became part of the former municipality of Ankenes. This farm was of central importance in the effort to get the railroad built from Kiruna to Narvik in the late 1800s. The wealthy farmer Statius Mosling (1853–1934) at the Fagernes farm was very eager to have the railroad built to Narvik. Nordland

Ankenes
Ankenes is a former municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1884 until 1974. It encompassed most of the present-day Narvik Municipality, surrounding of the town of Narvik which was once its own municipality. The administrative centre of Ankenes was the village of Ankenesstrand, situated along the west side of the Beisfjorden, where the Ankenes Church is located. Today, the name Ankenes is often used to refer to the suburban Ankenesstrand area, just outside the town of Narvik. The European route E6 highway is the main thoroughfare through Ankenes and it follows the shoreline of the Ofotfjorden and Beisfjorden and it then crosses the fjord over the long Beisfjord Bridge where it then reaches the town of Narvik. The Register for Governmental Approval of Financial Obligations (in Norwegian ''Register om betinget godkjenning og kontroll'', often shortened to ''ROBEK'') is a Norwegian government register of municipalities and counties who have not submitted a balanced budget. The consequence of being in the registry is that resolutions of incurring debt, or entering long-term rental contracts must be approved by Norwegian Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development in order to be valid. Budgets must be approved by either the ministry or the County Governor. The registry was introduced in 2001. Prior to this, all counties and municipalities were required to have any debt and long-term contracts approved. The new law narrowed this to local divisions with an economic imbalance. Since not being in the ROBEK registry gives the municipality much more economic freedom, the councils usually aim to stay out of the registry. Beisfjord
Beisfjord is a village in Narvik Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The village is located about southeast of the town of Narvik, at the southeastern end of the long Beisfjorden (an arm off of the large Ofotfjorden). Fagernes Tunnel

European route E6 ( no, Europavei 6, sv, Europaväg 6, or simply E6) is the main north-south thoroughfare through Norway as well as the west coast of Sweden. It is long and runs from the southern tip of Sweden at Trelleborg, into Norway and through almost all of the country north to the Arctic Circle and Nordkapp. The route ends in Kirkenes close to the Russian border. Kiruna
