Faerieworlds
Faerieworlds was an annual music and arts festival currently held annually in the U.S. state of Oregon. The festival's primary theme was the "realm of the faerie". As of 2015, the festival moved to Hornings Hideout near Portland after many recent festivals had been held at Mount Pisgah in the Howard Buford Park Recreation Area southeast of Eugene, Oregon. The 2015-2019 festivals were held at Horning's Hideout and 2020 saw a virtual event take place on the live stream platform PORTL. The 2021 date was cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic, and in 2022 resumed, taking place at the Cuthbert Theater in Eugene, Oregon. In 2023, all future events were cancelled and their LLC was legally dissolved due to under-performance and financial issues as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. North Plains, Oregon
North Plains is a city in Washington County, Oregon, Washington County, Oregon, United States, off U.S. Route 26 in Oregon, U.S. 26 on the northwest Rural-urban fringe, outskirts of the Portland metropolitan area. The population was 3,441 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. History Pioneer settlers first arrived in the North Plains area in the 1840s. The area to be known as the city of North Plains was platted in September 1910 by the Ruth Trust Company of Portland. They purchased area tracts after James J. Gaia Consort
Gaia Consort is the original incarnation of Seattle-based folk rock music-group Bone Poets Orchestra.Gaia Consort http://www.gaiaconsort.com The group, popular in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, was founded as Gaia Consort by Christopher Bingham and Sue Tinney in 1997. Their first performance was at Nudestock 97. Wardruna
Wardruna is a Norwegian music group formed in 2003 by Einar Selvik along with Gaahl and Lindy-Fay Hella. They create musical renditions of Norse cultural and esoteric traditions and make significant use of Nordic historical and traditional instruments, including deer-hide frame drums, flutes, lyre#Global variants and parallels, kraviklyra, Jew's harp, mouth harp, Bukkehorn, goat horn, and lur. Non-traditional instruments, like the Finnish jouhikko, and other sources of sound like trees, rocks, water, and torches are also used. The band have released six full-length albums, the first three based on Norse runes, the fourth based on the sayings of Odin from the Völuspá and other old Norse sources. Tony M. DiTerlizzi (born September 6, 1969) is an American fantasy artist, children's book creator, and motion picture producer. In the gaming industry, he is best known for his work in the collectible card game '' Magic: The Gathering'' and on the ''Planescape'' product line for the ''Dungeons & Dragons'' role-playing game. DiTerlizzi created ''The Spiderwick Chronicles'' series with Holly Black, and was an executive producer on the 2008 film adaptation of the series. Brian Froud (born 1947) is an English fantasy illustrator and conceptual designer. He is most widely known for his 1978 book '' Faeries'' with Alan Lee, and as the conceptual designer of the Jim Henson films '' The Dark Crystal'' (1982) and ''Labyrinth'' (1986). According to '' Wired'', Froud is "one of the most pre-emiminent visualizers of the world of faerie and folktale". Qntal
Qntal is a Music of Germany, German "electro-medieval" band (music), band founded in 1991 by Michael Popp and Ernst Horn. They later added singing, vocalist Syrah (Sigrid Hausen) to complete the band. The band has roots in Estampie (band), Estampie, an acoustic band based on "authentic" Early music, whereas Qntal is a dark electronic "crossover" project. Karan Casey (born 1969) is an Irish folk singer, and a former member of the Irish band Solas. She resides in Cork, Ireland. Early years Casey was born in Ballyduff Lower, Kilmeaden, County Waterford, Ireland. Her family encouraged her to sing in the house, in a church choir and at school. John Renbourn
John Renbourn (8 August 1944 – 26 March 2015) was an English guitarist and songwriter. He was best known for his collaboration with guitarist Bert Jansch as well as his work with the folk group Pentangle, although he maintained a solo career before, during and after that band's existence (1967–1973). Several albums were credited to the John Renbourn Group. He worked later in a duo with Stefan Grossman. While most commonly labelled a folk musician, Renbourn's musical tastes and interests took in early music, classical music, jazz, blues and world music.
