Facedown Records
Facedown Records is a Christian rock record label based in Fallbrook, California, that is devoted to hardcore punk and metalcore bands (Christian and secular) with a few death metal acts such as Immortal Souls and Indwelling. Founded by No Innocent Victim drummer Jason Dunn"Company Profile: Facedown Records". As the label grew, it was able to sign artists for full album deals. xDISCIPLEx released material on Facedown, as well as Figure Four and Point of Recognition. The label also signs straight edge groups such as xDEATHSTARx and xLooking Forwardx. When Breath Escapes
Sinai Beach was a Christian metal band that was formed in Riverside, California, in 2000. The band has stated on multiple occasions that they are named after Mount Sinai, where Moses was given the Ten Commandments in the Bible. History Early beginnings (2000–2006) Sinai Beach was started by vocalist CJ Alderson, guitarist Logan Lambert, drummer Mike Dunlap, and bassist Jeff Santo. They recorded a four-song demo and played mostly local shows. Their recording and performances gained attention of No Innocent Victim drummer, Jason Dunn. Shortly after signing with Dunn's label, Facedown Records, guitarist Mike Risinger joined on guitar. The five began to write material for their second recording that became the band's first full release, '' When Breath Escapes''. The Harvest (Alove For Enemies Album)
Alove for Enemies was a Christian hardcore band from Long Island, New York, US. They claim Shai Hulud, Darkest Hour, and Few Left Standing as their influences. Biography The band was founded in 1999, and released their first six-song EP independently in 2000. The group was founded by singer Erich Barto and drummer A.J. Gonzalez. The band was signed to independent label Polytope records and toured twice under this label. After A.J. Gonzalez left the band, they replaced Gonzalez with Mike Desario for most of 2003. In late 2003 Jon Hernandez joined just before the band signed to Californian label Strikefirst Records, a subsidiary of Facedown Records. They released the EP '' Broken Pledge'' in December 2003 and played many gigs to support it. In March 2004 Alove for Enemies signed with the main Facedown Records label. Bloodlined Calligraphy
Bloodlined Calligraphy is an American metalcore band. Hailing from Ypsilanti, Michigan, the band started making music in 1996 under the name Friction. In 1999, the band changed its name to Bloodlined Calligraphy and the band's lineup consisted of Matt Carter (drums), Matt Fleming (aka Birdman/Pat - vocals), Ryan Hampton (guitar), Eric Cargile (bass guitar), and Josh Colvin (guitar). The band signed to Selah Records and, in 2002, they released their first full-length album, ''Say Hi to the Bad Guy.'' In 2003, Fleming left the band amicably. The band conducted a nationwide search for their next vocalist, with Fleming having a large say in who should replace him as the band's vocalist. The band asked Michigan native Ally French, who was fronting a touring metalcore band in Ohio at the time, to audition. Ice Upon The Night
''Ice Upon the Night'' is the second studio album by Finnish melodic death metal band Immortal Souls. It is Immortal Souls' first album released by the Dutch Fear Dark Records. It was released in March 2003. Recording ''Ice Upon the Night'' was recorded in November 2002 at Sonic Pump Studios, Helsinki, Finland. The mixing and mastering was done by Nino Laurenne, and Mika Jussila mastered the album at Finnvox Studios, Helsinki. The album was produced by Immortal Souls. Musically, the album continues on the band's melodic death metal approach as well as the wintry lyrical theme, although the overall tempo has gotten somewhat slower compared to the previous efforts. The session musician Kimmo Pulkkinen sings clean vocals on the song "You" as a duet with Aki Särkioja, in contrast to his death growl vocals. Pulkkinen also sings clean vocals on "Man of Sorrow." Immortal Souls
Immortal Souls is a melodic death metal band from Kokkola, Finland, formed in 1991. They released a split album and their debut on Little Rose Productions in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In 2002, Immortal Souls signed with Dutch label Fear Dark which released their second and third album as well as a compilation. They have performed at Tuska Open Air Metal Festival. Their musical style is characterized by their use of melodic guitar riffs and singing which shifts between growls and shouting. Their music has been called winter metal since Immortal Souls utilizes frosty metaphors in their lyrics and usually creates a cold, wintry atmosphere. Clear Convictions is a five-piece hardcore band based in Florida. Originally from Puerto Rico, formed in 1999. History In 2002, the band released their first self-titled demo, distributed by Facedown Records worldwide. In 2004, Clear Convictions had its first tour outside of Puerto Rico in South America, which allowed them to have a deal with Strike First Records a subdivision from Facedown. Nodes of Ranvier is a metalcore band from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, US, that was signed to Victory Records. The band is described as "one of Sioux Falls' most successful and popular acts ever."
