Symphony in Peril was a Christian metalcore band from Columbus, Ohio, United States. The band started in early 2002, and ended in late 2005, after Hellfest, which the band was to play, but was cancelled at the last minute. History Symphony in Peril formed in Columbus, OH in early 2002. The band gained attention quite early in their development because Shawn Jonas, former vocalist for popular metalcore band Zao, was one of the founding members.. Unbound Zine. 2004. Retrieved on June 11, 2008. Quickly, they signed with Facedown Records, and released their debut full-length, '' Lost Memoirs and Faded Pictures'', in 2003. Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. A symphony is an extended musical composition in Western classical music, most often for orchestra. Although the term has had many meanings from its origins in the ancient Greek era, by the late 18th century the word had taken on the meaning common today: a work usually consisting of multiple distinct sections or movements, often four, with the first movement in sonata form.
