FIVB World Grand Prix 2000
The 2000 FIVB World Grand Prix was the eighth women's volleyball tournament of its kind. It was held over four weeks in three countries and six cities throughout Asia: Hong Kong, Thailand, PR China, Chinese Taipei and Malaysia, cumulating with the final round at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City, Philippines, from 24 to 27 August 2000. Lyubov Sokolova (volleyball)
Lyubov Vladimirovna Sokolova ( (Шашко́ва), also known as Lyubov Kılıç and formerly known as Lyubov Shashkova, born 4 December 1977) is a Russian retired volleyball player, Honored Master of Sports of Russia. She was a member of the national team that won gold medals at the 2006 and 2010 World Championships in Japan, and silver medals at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Yuxi
Yuxi ( zh, c=玉溪, p=Yùxī) is a prefecture-level city in the central part of Yunnan province of the People's Republic of China. The administrative center of Yuxi is Hongta District. Yuxi is approximately south of Kunming. Geography Yuxi is located in the center of Yunnan province, about south of Kunming, the provincial capital. Mirka Francia Vasconcelos (born 14 February 1975) is a Cuban-Italian retired volleyball player who won two Olympic gold medals with the Cuban women's national volleyball team. At 1.84 m (6 ft) tall, she played as a middle blocker before transitioning to an outside hitter later in her career. Francia was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2019. Ana Ibis Fernández Valle (born 3 August 1973) is a Cuban former volleyball player who is a four-time Olympian and three-time Olympic gold medalist. She was a member of the Cuban national volleyball team that won a gold medal in the 1992, 1996, and 2000 Olympics. She also won a bronze medal in the 2004 Olympics. Regla Torres
Regla Torres Herrera (born 12 February 1975) is a Cuban former volleyball player who won three Olympic gold medals with the Cuban women's national volleyball team. Torres began playing on the international circuit at the age of 14. As a middle blocker, she was a key player in the dominance of the Cuban national team of the 1990s. In 2001, Torres was the recipient of the "Best Player of the 20th Century" award by the FIVB and was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame. Regla Bell
Regla Maritza Bell MacKenzie (born 6 July 1970) is a Cuban former volleyball player and three-time Olympian. While playing for the Cuban women's national volleyball team, she won the gold medal three times at the Olympic Games from 1992 to 2000, and won additional gold medals at the FIVB World Championship in 1994 and 1998. Raisa O'Farrill Bolanos
Raisa O'Farrill Bolaños (17 April 1972 – 30 May 2023), more commonly known as Raisa O'Farrill, was a Cuban female volleyball player and two-time Olympian. Alejandrina Mireya Luis Hernández (born 25 August 1967) is a Cuban former volleyball player and three-time Olympic gold medalist. Yumilka Ruiz
Yumilka Daysi Ruíz Luaces (born 8 May 1978) is a Cuban retired volleyball player who represented her native country in four consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1996. She won Olympic gold medals with the national team in 1996 and 2000. She also claimed the bronze at the 2004 Olympics. As an outside hitter, she was integral to the dominance of the Cuban team in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In 2023, Ruíz was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame.
