''Fields'' is the debut studio album by Swedish-based indie rock band Junip. Critical reception ''Fields'' received mostly positive reviews from music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received a metascore of 75, based on 17 reviews. '' URB'' found that "the record is consistent and avoids becoming boring and repetitive", and that the album "is all about quality over quantity." Fields Stores Ltd. is a Canadian discount store company owned by FHC Holdings, with 67 locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the Northwest Territories. History The first Fields store was established in Vancouver in 1950 by the chain's founders, Joseph Segal and Saul "Sonny" Wosk. From there, Fields grew to eight stores by the time it opened a store at Capilano Mall in North Vancouver in 1968, continuing to expand across British Columbia into the 1970s with the acquisitions of several regional retailers (including several small HBC stores in smaller towns). In 1972, Fields purchased a subsidiary chain of hardware stores called Marshall Wells, and after further expansion into Alberta and Saskatchewan, it acquired majority ownership of the Zellers chain in 1976. Fields (band)
Fields were an Anglo-Icelandic electronic/indie band formed in London in 2006. After playing their first live shows they signed a deal with Atlantic Records, which allowed them to release through their own Black Lab Records their 2007 debut album ''Everything Last Winter'', recorded with producer Michael Beinhorn at Sun Studios in Dublin. Vocalist Nick Peill instigated most of Fields' songs. Alongside Peill, the line-up was vocalist and keyboard player Thórunn Antonía, lead guitarist Jamie Putnam, drummer Henry Spencer, and bassist Matty Derham, who later joined Does It Offend You, Yeah?. Fields played on tour with Wolfmother and Bloc Party, and on their own tour in 2007. Although recording work commenced on a follow-up album to be entitled ''Hollow Mountain'', which was intended to include the songs "Sun In Your Eyes", "Constantly", "Are You Ready Yet?", "Worst Love" and "Call The Captain", the album remains unreleased. The Fields Medal is a prize awarded to two, three, or four mathematicians under 40 years of age at the International Congress of Mathematicians, International Congress of the International Mathematical Union (IMU), a meeting that takes place every four years. The Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences, commonly known simply as the Fields Institute, is an international centre for scientific research in mathematical sciences. It is an independent non-profit with strong ties to 20 Ontario universities, including the University of Toronto, where it occupies a purpose-built building on the St. George campus. Fields was established in 1992, and was briefly based at the University of Waterloo before relocating to Toronto in 1995. The institute is named after Canadian mathematician John Charles Fields, after whom the Fields Medal is also named. Fields Landing (formerly, South Bay, South Bay Station, and Adele) is a census-designated place in Humboldt County, California. It is located on Humboldt Bay south-southwest of downtown Eureka, at an elevation of 13 feet (4 m). The ZIP Code is 95537. The population was 276 at the 2010 census. History Before the arrival of European settlers, the area now known as Humboldt County was occupied by a number of indigenous peoples, including the Wiyot, Yurok, Hupa, Karuk, Chilula, Whilkut, and the southern Athabascans. Fields Landing is located within the original territory of the Wiyot tribe. The first recorded entrance into Humboldt Bay occurred in 1806 by members of a Russian-American company from Sitka. Fields was an English progressive rock band formed in 1971 by drummer Andrew McCulloch, keyboardist Graham Field, and bassist-vocalist Alan Barry.
