FC Metalurgi Rustavi
Metalurgi Rustavi was a Georgian football team based in Rustavi, which has twice won the national league. In Soviet times, the club played under the name "Metalurgi" (Rustavi), then during the independence of Georgia, the club was called "Gorda" (Rustavi) and FC Rustavi. After FC Tbilisi merged with club FC Rustavi in 2006, FC Olimpi Rustavi was established. History Football in Rustavi could be traced back to Metalurgi Rustavi in the Soviet era. In 1990, the club became a member of the newly created Umaglesi Liga under the name ''Gorda'' with Givi Nodia at the helm. In the first three seasons Gorda came third twice. Following Nodia's departure from the team, the management reversed its decision regarding the name. Poladi Stadium
The Poladi stadium is a multi-use stadium in Rustavi, Georgia. Used mostly for football matches, the arena belonged to the local municipality before it was handed over to the Rustavi metallurgical plant. Therefore, the stadium built in 1948 was the home ground of Metalurgi Rustavi for many years. 2011–12 Umaglesi Liga
The 2011–12 Umaglesi Liga was the 23rd season of top-tier football in Georgia. It began on 6 August 2011 and ended on 21 May 2012. The league added two teams for this season, increasing its size from ten to twelve teams. The league was won by Zestaponi, who successfully defended their title. Metalurgi Rustavi, Torpedo Kutaisi and Dila Gori qualified for the 2012–13 UEFA Europa League, while Spartaki Tskhinvali and Gagra were relegated. Changes from 2010–11 season The league expanded from ten to twelve teams for this season. In order to accommodate the additional teams, the competition mode was changed from a single-phase, quadruple round-robin schedule to a double-phase championship. The 2009–10 Erovnuli Liga, Umaglesi Liga was the 21st season of top-tier football in Georgia (country), Georgia. It began on August 1, 2009, and ended on May 20, 2010. FC Olimpi Rustavi won the championship. Changes from 2008–09 Structural changes League size was reduced from 11 to 10 teams prior to this season. The Erovnuli Liga ( ka, ეროვნული ლიგა; ) is the top Division (sport), division of professional top tier Association football, football in Georgia (Country), Georgia. The Georgian Erovnuli Liga 2 ( ka, ეროვნული ლიგა 2; ), organized since 1990 by the GFF, serves as the second division of professional football in Georgia. The league was introduced for the 2017 season under the current name as a part of reorganization process of the entire league system. It was formerly known as Pirveli liga (the First league). Structure There are ten clubs competing in Erovnuli Liga 2. During the season each club plays each other four times, twice at home and twice away. At the end of each season the winner gains automatic promotion and the bottom club is relegated. The runner-up and 3rd placed team participate in two-legged home and away play-off matches against the 9th and 8th placed clubs of Erovnuli Liga, respectively. FC Rustavi ('' Georgian'': საფეხბურთო კლუბი რუსთავი) is a Georgian football club based in the city of Rustavi. They compete in Erovnuli Liga 2, the 2nd tier of Georgian football. Founded in 2015, it is one of the youngest participants of the Georgian football leagues. The team has spent two seasons in the top division. Liga 3 ( ka, ლიგა 3), organized by the Georgian Football Federation, is the third division of professional football in Georgia. Introduced for the 2017 season with the launch of the Erovnuli Liga, it is a rebrand of the former Meore Liga (the Second League). The current holders are Gonio. FC Locomotive Tbilisi, commonly referred to as Lokomotivi or simply Loco, is a Georgian professional football club based Tbilisi. The club competes in the Erovnuli Liga 2, the second tier of Georgian football. During the existence of the USSR the club was a part of the Lokomotiv Voluntary Sports Society. Otar Kiteishvili () ( ka, ოთარ კიტეიშვილი; born 26 March 1996) is a Georgian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Austrian Bundesliga Club SK Sturm Graz and the Georgia national team. A product of Dinamo Tbilisi academy, Kiteishvili has won four titles at the club. He is also the two-time winner of the Austrian Cup.
