Football Club Lokomotyv Poltava (); was a Ukrainian Soviet football team based in Poltava, Ukraine. It is the Poltava Oblast club with the most titles with nine championships and eleven cup wins. History Football club was formed in Poltava during 1912 under the name Podilska Poltava. In 1920 it was renamed and club was one of four teams who organized Poltava football league. New name was Podil Poltava. Two years later it was renamed to Yuzhraion Poltava. Four years later it was again renamed to Zalizhnychnyk (Zheldor) Poltava. Football Club Spartak Poltava (); was a Ukrainian Soviet association football, football team based in Poltava, Ukraine. It was one of the best teams in Poltava during the 1940-1950. History In 1922 a sport organization Spartak was created. Next year a football team was organized. They began a rivalry with another city sport organization Sokil. Within a year Sokil was dissolved and its football club a four time city champion was dissolved also. Spartak reinforced with best city players easily won the 1924 and 1925 city championships. The Poltava Oblast Football Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in Poltava Oblast Ukraine. It was first played during the 1939. It is organized by Football Association of Poltava Oblast. Olympia Savyntsi is the current holder. They have won the cup eight times. History On 12 June 1939 first season of the cup competition began. Final was played fifteen days later in Kremenchuk. Dynamo Kremenchuk became the first winner. Dynamo player Sikharulidze became the first player to score a hat-trick in the final. Next year the more teams took part in the competition.
