''Emotion'' (stylized as ''E•MO•TION'') is the third studio album by Canadian singer and songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen. It was released on June 24, 2015 in Japan. Looking to transition from the bubblegum pop-oriented nature of her second studio album, ''Kiss'' (2012), Jepsen found inspiration in 1980s music and alternative styles. She enlisted a team of mainstream and indie collaborators, including Sia, Mattman & Robin, Dev Hynes, Ariel Rechtshaid, Rostam Batmanglij, Greg Kurstin, and Peter Svensson of the Cardigans, culminating in a largely synth-pop-centric effort. ''Emotion'' received favorable reviews from contemporary music critics, who praised its pop escapism. The album underperformed worldwide, debuting at number sixteen on the ''Billboard'' 200 with 16,153 units. However, in Jepsen's home country, it became her third top ten, peaking at number eight in Canada with 2,600 copies. Christopher John Baran (born February 13, 1990) is an American record producer and songwriter based in Los Angeles. He is known for his work with artists including Melanie Martinez, Carly Rae Jepsen, Panic! At The Disco, MARINA, and Nessa Barrett, among many others. He is a founding member of theatre company Woolf and the Wondershow and co-writer, creator, and producer of their Los Angeles future theater musical CAGES. In the vein of '' Kiss: the Remix'', both Japan exclusives, ''Emotion'' ''Remixed +'' compiles eight remixes of singles released from her third studio album ''Emotion'' (2015), and two new tracks: " First Time" and "Fever". The compilation features contributions by Bleachers, the Knocks and a cohort of collaborators from her ''Emotion'' sessions. "First Time" was given a limited promotional release. Ajay Bhattacharyya, known professionally as Stint, is a Canadian record producer and songwriter. He has produced songs for Kesha, Gallant, MØ, Carly Rae Jepsen, Demi Lovato, NAO and Zara Larsson. Lukas Loules (né Hilbert, born 23 December 1972) is a German songwriter, composer, music producer, and singer. In 2014, he married Katerina Loules and changed his surname from Hilbert to Loules. MXM and Wolf Cousins are a pair of Swedish songwriting and production organisations, founded and established by songwriter and record producer Max Martin. MXM Studios and its affiliated producers are based in New York City, and Wolf Cousins Music are in Los Angeles. The Zolas
The Zolas are a Canadian indie rock band based in Vancouver, signed to Light Organ Records. The band was formed by duo Zachary Gray (vocals/guitar) and Tom Dobrzanski (piano/keyboards/backing vocals), with various session musicians supporting them live and on record.
