Euoplocephalus Tutus
''Euoplocephalus'' ( ) is a genus of large herbivorous ankylosaurid dinosaurs, living during the Late Cretaceous of Canada. It has only one named species, ''Euoplocephalus tutus''. The first fossil of ''Euoplocephalus'' was found in 1897 in Alberta. In 1902, it was named ''Stereocephalus'', but Stereocephalus, that name had already been given to an insect, so it was changed in 1910. Later, many more Ankylosauridae, ankylosaurid remains were found from the Campanian of North America and often made separate genera. In 1971, Walter Coombs concluded that they all belonged to ''Euoplocephalus'', which then make it one of the best-known dinosaurs. Recently, however, experts have come to the opposite conclusion, limiting the authentic finds of ''Euoplocephalus'' to about a dozen specimens. The Late Cretaceous (100.5–66 Ma) is the more recent of two epochs into which the Cretaceous Period is divided in the geologic time scale. Rock strata from this epoch form the Upper Cretaceous Series. The Cretaceous is named after ''creta'', the Latin word for the white limestone known as chalk. Club (anatomy)
In zoology, a tail club is a bony mass at the end of the tail of some dinosaurs and of some mammals, most notably the Ankylosauridae, ankylosaurids and the glyptodonts, as well as meiolaniid turtles. It is thought that this was a form of defensive Armour (zoology), armour or weapon that was used to defend against predators, much in the same way as a thagomizer, possessed by stegosaurids, though at least in glyptodonts it is hypothesized it was used in Display (zoology), fighting for mating rights. Among dinosaurs, the club was present mainly in ankylosaurids, although Sauropoda, sauropods like ''Shunosaurus'' and ''Kotasaurus'' also possessed a tail club. Victoria Arbour has established that ankylosaurid tails could generate enough force to break bone during impacts. The premaxilla (or praemaxilla) is one of a pair of small cranial bones at the very tip of the upper jaw of many animals, usually, but not always, bearing teeth. Teresa Maryańska
Teresa Maryańska (1937 – 3 October 2019) was a Polish paleontologist who specialized in Mongolian dinosaurs, particularly pachycephalosaurians and ankylosaurians. She is considered not only as one of Poland's but also one of the world's leading experts on dinosaurs. Career Initially, Mary's studies were regarding invertebrate paleontology. However, she became a member of the 1964, 1965, 1970, and 1971 Polish–Mongolian expeditions to the Gobi Desert, and changed her focus. She described many finds from these fossils, often with Halszka Osmólska. In 1974, Maryanska and Halszka Osmólska were among the first "women to describe new kinds of dinosaurs". Denticles, also called serrations, are small bumps on a tooth that serve to give the tooth a serrated edge. In paleontology, denticle characteristics such as size and density (denticles per unit distance) are used to describe and classify fossilized teeth, especially those of dinosaurs. In dentistry, cingulum (Latin: girdle) is an anatomical feature of the tooth and referred to as the small raised area of an anterior tooth, including central incisors, lateral incisors and canines). Cedarpelta
''Cedarpelta'' is an extinct genus of basal ankylosaurid dinosaur from Utah that lived during the Late Cretaceous period (Cenomanian to lower Turonian stage, 98.2 to 93 Ma) in what is now the Mussentuchit Member of the Cedar Mountain Formation. The type and only species, ''Cedarpelta bilbeyhallorum'', is known from multiple specimens including partial skulls and postcranial material. It was named in 2001 by Kenneth Carpenter, James Kirkland, Don Burge, and John Bird. ''Cedarpelta'' has an estimated length of 7 metres (23 feet) and weight of 5 tonnes (11,023 lbs).
