Etc (band)
Etc... is a Czech rock band from Prague, formed in 1974 by singer and guitarist Vladimír Mišík. Various musicians have rotated through the group's ranks, including violist Jan Hrubý (Framus Five), bassist Jiří Veselý (Stromboli, Žlutý pes), guitarist Petr "Kulich" Pokorný (Framus Five, Žlutý Pes), drummer Ivan Kadaňka, bassist/cellist Jaroslav Olin Nejezchleba, as well as bassists Vladimír Padrůněk and Vladimír Guma Kulhánek. Between 1982 and 1985, the group was banned from performing by the Communist government. In 2010, Etc... was inducted into the Beatová síň slávy (Beat Hall of Fame) and released the album ''Ztracený podzim''. In 2011, the group, minus Vladimír Mišík, released a collaboration album with Vladimír Merta, titled ''Ponorná řeka''. Petr Skoumal
Petr Skoumal (7 March 1938 – 28 September 2014) was a Czech musician and composer. Skoumal focused on film music. He also composed music for animated shorts (i.e. '' Maxipes Fik''). In the past he made several stage performances with Jan Vodňanský in The Drama Club in Prague. After the break-up of the duo he made several albums for adults, echoing the communist times (i.e. ''Half-life'', ''March''). In the 90s he started a series of albums for children, based on the stories of Emanuel Frynta, Pavel Šrut and Jan Vodňanský (i.e. '' If the Pig Had Wings'', ''Pastries'', ''How to hunt a Gorilla''). The former was made into a stage performance for Divadlo v Dlouhé. He was a son of the notable Czech translator Aloys Skoumal. He died in 2014 at age of 76. Žlutý Pes
Žlutý pes is a Czech rock band active since 1978. Its founder and frontman, Ondřej Hejma, is also the band's primary songwriter. They have sometimes performed under the pseudonyms "Tomahawk" and "Hudebně-zábavná skupina Ondřeje Hejmy" in the past. Žlutý pes have recorded more than a dozen albums and scored a number of radio hits. History Ondřej Hejma came up with the idea of forming a band in 1978 while visiting a friend in Los Angeles. When he returned to Czechoslovakia, he invited a number of musician friends to join him, and Žlutý pes was born. They began to play at bars and slowly gained a following. In the 1980s, after the publication of the ''Tribuna'' article "Nová vlna se starým obsahem" (New Wave with Old Content) about up-and-coming Prague bands, Žlutý pes began to be noticed by music critics and listeners alike. Framus Five
Framus Five is a Czech rock band founded in Prague in 1963 and led by singer and guitarist Michal Prokop. The band also includes guitarist Luboš Andršt and violinist Jan Hrubý. The group disbanded in 1971 but reunited in 1978 under the slightly altered name Framus 5. They again ceased activity in 1990, due to Prokop's involvement in politics. They regrouped once more in 2000 and continue to play to this day. History Framus Five's debut album, ''Michal Prokop + Framus Five'', released in 1968, was strongly influenced by American blues music. In 1970, the band was joined by guitarist Luboš Andršt and drummer Karel Káša Jahn. Vladimír Padrůněk
Vladimír Padrůněk (17 February 1952 – 30 August 1991) was a Czech jazz and rock bass guitarist. He is known for his work with the groups Jazz Q, Energit, Etc..., Abraxas, and others. Biography Padrůněk began playing bass guitar at the age of fourteen. Before that, he studied the violin at school. His first major musical engagement was in the group Exit, in 1969–1970. This is where he first met Luboš Andršt and Slávek Janda. His fame increased dramatically in the early 1970s as he began to play with the band Jazz Q, which was led by Martin Kratochvíl. In 1973, he recorded two albums with Jazz Q - ''Pozorovatelna'' (Watchtower) and ''Symbiosis''. The band planned to tour overseas, but due to his father's previous involvement in the political upheaval of 1968, Padrůněk was forbidden to travel to non-communist countries.
