237px, Petteri Koponen with Espoon Honka in 2007 Espoon Honka, also known as Honka Playboys, was a basketball club based in Espoo, Finland and it played in Korisliiga. The club was dissolved in 2011 due to financial difficulties. History Espoon Honka was founded in 1975 as a professional team apart from Tapiolan Honka, which worked as a feeder team and took responsibility for organizing youth teams and other activities. Espoon Honka played 16 seasons in the Korisliiga and won seven championship titles. Espoon Honka didn't play in the 2011–12 season of Korisliiga due to financial problems and the whole team was then dissolved later that year. A new team was then founded under the name Tapiolan Honka. Tapiolan Honka is a basketball club based in Espoo, Finland. Their men's team plays in top-tier Korisliiga, after they were promoted from Koripallon I-divisioona, I division A in 2024, and their women's team plays in Naisten Korisliiga. History It was founded as a sports club Tapion Honka in 1957. The basketball section separated in 1975 under the name of Tapiolan Honka. Nowadays the club has 700 licensed players and over 1200 total members in different age categories. From 1975 onwards, the men's first team was known as Espoon Honka. Tuukka Kotti (born 18 March 1981) is a Finnish professional basketball player for the Tapiolan Honka. Kotti attended Providence College in the United States, where he played college basketball between 2001 and 2005. He left Finland as a point guard, but gradually turned into a Center (basketball), center during his college career. In 2018, Kotti was named the Korisliiga MVP, Korisliiga Most Valuable Player at age 37, while playing with Helsinki Seagulls. Mihailo Pavićević ( sr-cyr, Михаило Павићевић; born March 15, 1958) is a Montenegrin professional basketball coach and former player. He currently works as the head coach for Mornar of the Montenegrin Basketball League and the ABA League.
