Kimmo Muurinen (born February 23, 1981) is a Finnish former professional basketball player. He played the majority of his career in his home country of Finland, but also had spells in Germany, Italy and the United States. He is also a long time member of the Finnish national team, which he debuted for in 2000. As of September 2, 2014, he has played 153 games for Finland. Miikka Muurinen (born 4 March 2007), is a Finnish high school basketball player for AZ Compass Prep. Youth career Muurinen came through the youth program of in Järvenpää, Finland. At the age of 15, he moved to Spain and joined . High school career For the 2023–24 season, Muurinen moved to the United States to attend Sunrise Christian high school program. In March 2024, he competed in the Euroleague Next Generation tournament in Dubai, representing the Next Generation Select Team, averaging 7 points, 5 rebounds and one block per game over seven matches. 2014 FIBA World Cup
The 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup was the 17th edition of the FIBA Basketball World Cup, the tournament previously known as the FIBA World Championship. The tournament was held from 30 August to 14 September 2014. Hosted by Spain, it was the last tournament to be held on the then-current four-year cycle.
