Erik Lindgren (ice Hockey)
Erik Lindgren (20 December 1902 – 23 July 1973) was a Swedish international ice hockey defender and bandy player. He represented Sweden men's national ice hockey team in the 1931 World Ice Hockey Championships. Career Born in Stockholm, Lindgren represented Djurgårdens IF Hockey, Djurgården between 1925 and 1934. He became Swedish champion in 1926. 1934–35, he played for IK Göta Ishockey, IK Göta. Lindgren played with Djurgårdens IF Bandy 1930–32. Djurgårdens IF Ishockeyförening – commonly known as Djurgårdens IF, Djurgården Hockey, Djurgården () – is a professional ice hockey team based in Stockholm, Sweden, affiliated with the Djurgårdens IF umbrella organization. Djurgården is currently playing in the Swedish second tier ice hockey league, the HockeyAllsvenskan. Djurgården is the most successful Swedish hockey team of all time, as 16-time Swedish champions, 12-time runners-up, and leaders of the marathon table for the top flight of Swedish hockey. The Sweden men's national ice hockey team ( sv, Sveriges herrlandslag i ishockey) is governed by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association. It is one of the most successful national ice hockey teams in the world and a member of the so-called " Big Six", the unofficial group of the six strongest men's ice hockey nations, along with Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia and the United States. The team's nickname ''Tre Kronor'', meaning "Three Crowns", refers to the emblem on the team jersey, which is found in the lesser national coat of arms of the Kingdom of Sweden. 1931 World Ice Hockey Championships
The 1931 Ice Hockey World Championship was the fifth World Championship, an annual international ice hockey tournament. It took place between 1 and 8 February 1931 in Krynica, Poland. The tournament was won by Canada who were represented by the University of Manitoba Grads team, claiming their fifth world championship title by finishing on top of the group in the final round with a total of nine points. The United States finished second to win the silver medal, losing only one game to Canada and Austria finished third for the bronze medal. The host nation of Poland finished fourth at the tournament after winning one game, tying one, and losing three in the final round. Djurgårdens IF Bandy is the bandy section of Swedish sports club Djurgårdens IF, located in Stockholm. History Djurgårdens IF was one of the teams playing at the Nordic Games in 1905, where the team lost the final to Uppsala HK. The club has been in the Swedish championship finals seven times before 1930, and won two of them, in 1908 and 1912. The 1908 team, who defeated Östergötlands BF with 3–1 at Idrottsparken in Norrköping, consisted of Bror Modén, Gunnar Friberg, Karl Öhman, Algot Nilsson, Götrik Frykman, Birger Walla, Arvid Spångberg, Ivar Friberg, Erik Lavass, Erik Andéhn, and Gottfrid Johansson.
