''Exclaim!'' is a Canadian music and entertainment publisher based in Toronto, which features coverage of new music across all genres with a special focus on Canadian and emerging artists. The monthly ''Exclaim!'' print magazine publishes seven issues per year, distributing over 103,000 copies to over 2,600 locations across Canada. In addition to music, the magazine also covers film and comedy. History ''Exclaim!'' began as a discussion among campus and community radio programmers at Ryerson's CKLN-FM in 1991. It was started by then-CKLN programmer Ian Danzig, together with other programmers and Toronto musicians. The goal of the publication was to support great Canadian music that was otherwise going unheralded. Botch (band)
Botch was an American mathcore band formed in 1993 in Tacoma, Washington. The band, featuring Brian Cook (musician), Brian Cook, Dave Knudson (guitarist), Dave Knudson, Tim Latona and Dave Verellen, spent four years as a garage band and released several demos and EPs before signing to Hydra Head Records. Through the label, Botch released two studio albums: ''American Nervoso'' (1998) and ''We Are the Romans'' (1999). The group toured extensively and internationally in support of their albums with like-minded bands such as The Blood Brothers (band), The Blood Brothers, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Ink & Dagger and Jesuit (band), Jesuit. Dave Verellen is an American singer. He grew up in Tacoma, Washington, and was the vocalist for the mathcore band Botch. He has since gone on to play drums for the folk-country band Roy with his brother Ben Verellen of Harkonen. In 2008 he formed the band Narrows with members of Some Girls and These Arms Are Snakes These Arms Are Snakes was an American post-hardcore band that formed in 2002 and featured former members of Botch and Kill Sadie. Kiss it Goodbye was an American hardcore punk band from Seattle that formed in 1996 and broke-up in 1998. History After leaving the New Jersey band Deadguy in 1996, vocalist Tim Singer and guitarist Keith Huckins moved on to form Kiss it Goodbye with bassist Thom Rusnack and drummer Andrew Gormley. Huckins, Rusnack and Gormley were already familiar musically as they had all previously performed together in the New Jersey band Rorschach. A demo tape titled ''Be Afraid'' was quickly recorded and heavily circulated around the New York City area which responded with high praise. The demo is the only recording made by the group to feature guitarist Eric Cooper. The band recorded their 1997 debut LP '' She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not'' for Revelation Records. Deadguy is an American metalcore band from New Brunswick, New Jersey, New Brunswick, New Jersey. The band formed in 1994 and disbanded in 1997.
