Engine Shed (theatre)
The Engine Shed is a music and entertainment venue at the University of Lincoln in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England, and is operated by the University of Lincoln Students' Union. The venue comprises three areas: The Engine Shed, which is the main hall; The Platform, which is a smaller floor overlooking the main hall; and Towers, which is a sports bar serving food and drink split over two floors. History It was opened in September 2006 and takes its name from the locomotive shed that used to lie in its current location, immediately adjacent to the Nottingham/ Doncaster-Lincoln Line.The venue has a capacity of 1,500 in the main hall and approximately 800 in Towers. The first live gig was Embrace on 18 September 2006. It has also staged careers fairs and hosts the University's freshers' fair. River Witham
The River Witham is a river almost entirely in the county of Lincolnshire in the east of England. It rises south of Grantham close to South Witham at , passes through the centre of Grantham (where it may be closely followed using the Riverside Walk through Wyndham Park and Queen Elizabeth Park), passes Lincoln at and at Boston, , flows into The Haven, a tidal arm of The Wash, near RSPB Frampton Marsh. Based on their previous development work from the Guitar Hero, ''Guitar Hero'' series, the main ''Rock Band'' games have players use game controllers modeled after musical instruments and microphones to perform the lead guitar, bass guitar, Musical keyboard, keyboard, drum kit, drums and vocal parts of numerous licensed songs across a wide range of genres though mostly focusing on rock music by matching scrolling musical notes patterns shown on screen. Athlete (band)
Athlete were an English indie rock band formed in Deptford, London, comprising Joel Pott (lead vocals and guitar), Carey Willetts (bass and backing vocals), Stephen Roberts (drums and backing vocals), Tim Wanstall ( keyboards). The band had a brief period of high-profile domestic success in which their debut album '' Vehicles & Animals'' (2003) was a platinum seller in 2005 and Mercury Music Prize nomination. It was followed up by '' Tourist'' (2005) which reached No. 1 and sold over 500,000 copies allowing this album to also go platinum. The Cribs
The Cribs are a British indie rock band originally from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, that formed in 2001. The band consists of twins Gary Jarman, Gary and Ryan Jarman and their younger brother Ross Jarman. They were subsequently joined by ex-The Smiths, Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, who was an official member of the group from 2008 until 2011. The band, who first became active on the concert circuit in 2002, were initially tied to other like-minded UK bands of that time, most notably the Libertines, by a British music press that were looking for a 'British rearguard' to the wave of popular US alternative rock bands of the time. Feeder (band)
Feeder are a Welsh rock music, rock band formed in 1994. Scoring 20 UK top 40 singles and 13 UK top 40 albums to date in a career spanning three decades. Feeder are one of the longest-surviving bands to have originated in the UK Britpop scene. At the peak of their commercial success, they won two Kerrang! Deftones
Deftones is an American alternative metal band formed in Sacramento, California in 1988. They were formed by frontman Chino Moreno, lead guitarist Stephen Carpenter and drummer Abe Cunningham, with bassist Chi Cheng and keyboardist and turntablist Frank Delgado joining the line-up in 1990 and 1999, respectively. The band's experimental nature has led some critics to describe them as "the Radiohead of metal". Beautiful South
The Beautiful South were an English pop rock group formed in 1988 by Paul Heaton and Dave Hemingway, two former members of the Hull group the Housemartins, both of whom performed lead and backing vocals. Other members staying throughout the band's existence were former Housemartins roadie Sean Welch (bass), Dave Stead (drums), and Dave Rotheray (guitar). The band's original material was written by Heaton and Rotheray. Ocean Colour Scene (often abbreviated to OCS) is an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1989. They have had five top 10 albums, including a number one in 1997. They have also achieved seventeen top 40 singles and six top 10 singles to date. History Early days (1990–1995) Ocean Colour Scene was formed from two other bands disbanding; the Boys (Steve Cradock) and Fanatics (Simon Fowler, Damon Minchella, Oscar Harrison).
