Feeder (band)
Feeder are a Welsh rock music, rock band formed in 1994. Scoring 20 UK top 40 singles and 13 UK top 40 albums to date in a career spanning three decades. Feeder are one of the longest-surviving bands to have originated in the UK Britpop scene. At the peak of their commercial success, they won two Kerrang! Awards in 2001 and 2003 and were inducted into their Hall of Fame in August 2019. Although the band formed in 1994,Jon Lee tribute night at T. Elektra Records (or Elektra Entertainment) is an American record label owned by Warner Music Group, founded in 1950 by Jac Holzman and Paul Rickolt. The ''Kerrang!'' Awards was an annual music awards show in the United Kingdom, founded by the music magazine ''Kerrang!'' and focusing primarily on rock music. Jon Lee (drummer)
Jonathan Henry Lee (28 March 1968 – 7 January 2002) was a Welsh drummer. He was the original drummer of the British rock band Feeder. Feeder and early career Feeder were formed whilst Grant Nicholas was a producer, before moving to London to gain more experience. He had already met Lee in Newport who moved to London afterwards. They formed a band named Raindancer, who despite winning a TV slot on ITV Central never gained a record deal. Shortly before this, Lee was a member of Newport band The Darling Buds, although only appearing on a couple of b-sides of the "Sure Thing" single. Raindancer's split saw bassist John Canham part ways with the band, before Simon Blight followed soon after when they reformed as Hum, which was changed to Reel, before then changing their name once again to Real when Taka Hirose took over bass duties in 1995. Mark Richardson (born 18 May 1970, Leeds) is an English drummer, known for being a member of the English rock group Skunk Anansie and formerly of Little Angels and Feeder. Music Little Angels (December 1991 – July 1994) In 1991 he moved to London to join Little Angels after Michael Lee left to join The Cult. Matt Sorum had left The Cult to join Guns and Roses after their drummer, Stephen Adler, had allegedly been kicked out due to his growing drug habit. Richardson's first ever professional engagement was with the Little Angels on the 'Jim'll Fix It' show, a kids prime time TV show that helped children fulfil their dreams. Taka Hirose
Takashi Hirose (Japanese: タカ・ヒロセ (広瀬 隆), born 28 July 1967) is a Japanese musician who is the current bass guitarist for the rock band Feeder. Biography Hirose began playing bass at the age of 14 in secondary school and played in several jazz and metal bands during his school years. After leaving school, he moved to Tokyo and worked for guitar manufacturing specialists ESP as well as working at night in a downtown bar. In 1992 Hirose moved to London to study graphic design. After moving to London, Hirose planned to continue his musical activities, and answered an advertisement in the local ''Loot'' magazine from Grant Nicholas and Jon Lee, who were searching for a bassist in their new band, which would later become Feeder. Grantley Jonathan Nicholas (born 12 November 1967) is a Welsh musician and the lead singer and guitarist of the rock band Feeder. In 2014, Nicholas released his debut solo album '' Yorktown Heights.'' In the following year, a released a mini-album titled ''Black Clouds'' . Nicholas has won two Kerrang Awards for Best British Live Act 2001 and Best British Band 2003. Early years Nicholas was born in Newport, South Wales, but grew up in Pwllmeyric near Chepstow. He was educated at Monmouth School. He performed in public for the first time at the age of 11 at school, and gained four O-levels (the predecessor to GCSEs), including an A grade in Art. In school, Nicholas played the trumpet, and joined his first band, Sweet Leaf (named after a song by Black Sabbath, who were his favourite band in his school years, and the first he saw play live, at the Colston Hall in Bristol).
