Elmore Rual "Rip" Torn Jr. (February 6, 1931 – July 9, 2019) was an American actor whose career spanned more than 60 years. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his part as Marsh Turner in '' Cross Creek'' (1983). He portrayed Artie the producer on '' The Larry Sanders Show'', for which he was nominated for six Emmy Awards, winning in 1996. Gay Elmore is an American lawyer in Charleston, West Virginia who is better known for his collegiate basketball career at Virginia Military Institute between 1983–84 and 1986–87. During his career, Elmore scored a then-school record 2,423 points in 113 games, which at the time of his graduation was also the fourth-highest total in Southern Conference history. As a Sophomore year, sophomore in 1984–85 he scored 17 points in the championship game of the Southern Conference men's basketball tournament, but the VMI Keydets basketball, Keydets lost to Marshall Thundering Herd men's basketball, Marshall, 70–65. He was named the tournament MVP. Ernest Elmore
Ernest Carpenter Elmore (4 November 1901 – 8 November 1957) was an English theatre producer and director, and writer of crime and fantasy novels. He wrote his crime novels under the pseudonym John Bude. Life Elmore was born in Maidstone, Kent in 1901. He attended Mill Hill School until 1919 as a boarder, and then studied at a secretarial college in Cheltenham, before becoming a games master at St Christopher School, Letchworth. While there he also assisted with the school's dramatic activities. His interest in dramatics led him to join the Lena Ashwell Players as stage manager, touring the country with the company. Much of Elmore's early writing took place in dressing rooms during his spare time. Elizabeth Elmore (born April 30, 1976) is an American singer-songwriter and lawyer who has worked with the rock bands The Reputation and Sarge. Career and education Elmore formed Sarge in the Chicago area in 1996, and the band broke up in 1999. The ''Chicago Tribune'' wrote that Elmore "was in total command" of performing with Sarge. The ''Tallahassee Democrat'' wrote that her song-writing helped keep Sarge "a cut above the usual indie offerings." Elmore had a short solo stint, during which she recorded a self-titled split EP with Bob Nanna of Braid featuring her song "You Blink." In 2001, Elmore would form The Reputation, a band she played with until 2006. In 2002, The Reputation released a self-titled album.
