Elizabeth Cleaver
Elizabeth Ann Mrazik Cleaver (February 7, 1939 – July 27, 1985) was a Canadian illustrator and writer of children's books. For her contribution as a children's illustrator she was a highly commended runner-up for the biennial, international Hans Christian Andersen Award in 1972. Two of her books ''The Wind Has Wings: Poems from Canada'' and ''The Loon's Necklace'' were recognized with the Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon Illustrator's Award for the outstanding illustrations in Canadian children's literature. Shortly before her death, the Library and Archives of Canada acquired the original illustrations for eleven of Cleaver's thirteen books so that they would be preserved for future generations. Library and Archives Canada (LAC; ) is the federal institution tasked with acquiring, preserving, and providing accessibility to the documentary heritage of Canada. The national archive and library is the 16th largest library in the world. The LAC reports to the Parliament of Canada through the Minister of Canadian Heritage. LAC traces its origins to the Dominion Archives, formed in 1872, and the National Library of Canada, formed in 1953. Austrian Literature Online (ALO) is an Austrian digitization project by the University Library of Innsbruck, the University Library of Graz and the University of Linz. ALO is, together with Project ANNO, by the Austrian National Library, the largest Austrian project of its type. In August 2004, the 4,000th title was digitized. The majority of items are digital facsimiles.
