Eigil Knutsen
Eigil Knutsen (born 21 October 1988) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He has served as an MP for Hordaland since 2017, and was previously a deputy member from 2013 to 2017. Early life Knutsen was born on 21 October 1988 in Haugesund, Rogaland. Knutsen studied at the University of Bergen from 2008 to 2013, graduating with a Master's degree in economics. Career From 2015 to 2017, Knutsen worked as a political adviser to Bergen City Councillor Harald Schjelderup. Parliament He served as a deputy representative to the Storting for Hordaland during the term 2013–2017. Knutsen was elected as a representative to the Storting for Hordaland in the 2017 election. He was re-elected in 2021. The Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs ( no, Finanskomiteen) is a standing committee of the Parliament of Norway. It is responsible for policies relating to economic policy, monetary and credit policy, the financial and credit system, financial administration, block grants to municipalities and counties, taxes and duties to the State Treasury, state guarantees for exports, National Insurance revenues, incomes policy (except for the Agricultural Agreement) and legislation relating to accounting and auditing. 2017 Norwegian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Norway on 11 September 2017 to elect all 169 members of the unicameral Norwegian Parliament, the Storting. The non-socialist parties retained a reduced majority of 88 seats, allowing Prime Minister Erna Solberg's Conservative-Progress coalition to remain in government. The Liberal Party joined the coalition in January 2018 but it remained a minority cabinet until the Christian Democratic Party joined the coalition in 2019. The three largest centre-left parties won 79 seats. The Green Party retained its single seat, while the Red Party won its first ever seat. ''Bergensavisen'' (lit. "the Bergen newspaper"), usually shortened to ''BA'', is the second largest newspaper in Bergen, Norway. The paper is published in tabloid format. The newspaper's webpage ba.no is Bergen's largest local newspaper webpage. In 2006, ''Bergensavisen'' had a daily circulation of 30,719 on Monday to Saturday, and 29,782 on Sundays. The 2011 Norway attacks, referred to in Norway as 22 July ( no, 22. juli) or as 22/7, were two domestic terrorist attacks by neo-Nazi Anders Behring Breivik against the government, the civilian population, and a Workers' Youth League (AUF) summer camp, in which 77 people were killed. The first attack was a car bomb explosion in Oslo within Regjeringskvartalet, the executive government quarter of Norway, at 15:25:22 (CEST). The bomb was placed inside a van next to the tower block housing the office of the then Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg. The explosion killed eight people and injured at least 209 people, twelve severely.
