Efficient Modular Platform
The EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform) is a Modularity, modular car platform which is jointly developed and used by French car manufacturer PSA Group (merged into Stellantis since 2021) for compact and mid-size cars with front wheel drive or four wheel drive and transverse engine. It replaces the PSA PF2 platform, PF2 and PSA PF3 platform, PF3 platforms in one combined modular platform, and cost PSA €630 million to develop. Specification The EMP2 platform is highly modular, with a choice of short and long wheelbase, low or high riding height, and a choice of independent multi-link suspension, multi-link or twisted-beam rear suspension, twisted-beam rear suspension. Comparing to the predecessor PSA PF2 platform, PF2, the platform reduces the weight by 70 kg using very high strength steel, aluminum and magnesium alloys, and composite materials. This platform was first used on the second-generation Citroën C4 Picasso and then on the second-generation Peugeot 308 and second-gene ...

Twisted-beam Rear Suspension
The twist-beam rear suspension (also torsion-beam axle, deformable torsion beam, or compound crank) is a type of automobile suspension based on a large H- or C-shaped member. The front of the H attaches to the body via rubber bushings, and the rear of the H carries each stub-axle assembly, on each side of the car. The cross beam of the H holds the two trailing arms together, and provides the roll stiffness of the suspension, by twisting as the two trailing arms move vertically, relative to each other. Functioning The coil springs usually bear on a pad alongside the stub-axle. Often, the shock is collinear with the spring forming a coil-over. In many cases, the damper is also used as a restraint strap to stop the arm descending so far that the coil spring falls out through being completely unloaded. This location gives a high motion ratio compared with most suspensions, improving performance. The longitudinal location of the cross beam controls important parameters of the susp ...

Plug-in Hybrid
A plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) or simply plug-in hybrid is a type of hybrid electric vehicle equipped with a rechargeable battery pack that can be directly replenished via a charging cable plugged into an external electric power source, in addition to charging internally by its on-board internal combustion engine-powered generator. While PHEVs are predominantly passenger cars, there are also plug-in hybrid variants of sports cars, commercial vehicles, vans, utility trucks, buses, trains, motorcycles, mopeds, military vehicles and boats. Similar to battery electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrids can use centralized generators of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind or hydroelectric) to be largely emission-free, or a fossil plant in which case they displace greenhouse gas emissions from the car tailpipe exhaust to the power station. As opposed to conventional hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), PHEVs generally have a larger battery pack that can be recharged (the ...

Mild Hybrid
Mild hybrids (MHEV) (also known as smart hybrids, power-assist hybrids, battery-assisted hybrid vehicles or BAHVs) are generally cars with an internal combustion engine (ICE) equipped with a minimally extended battery and an auxiliary electric combined motor and generator in a parallel hybrid configuration that is only enough for an electric-only mode of propulsion at slow speed and allows the engine to be stopped whenever the car is coasting, braking, or stopped, and then restarted once power is required again. Mild hybrids may employ regenerative braking and some level of power assist to the internal combustion engine. Overview The mild hybrid's electric motor provides greater efficiency through the use of a single device that is essentially an integrated starter/alternator sometimes known as a generator-motor unit. A typical mild-hybrid setup uses a belt-powered generator-motor unit driven off the engine to supply power to a small battery. The generator is also powered throug ...

Dongfeng Fengshen A9
The Dongfeng A9 is an executive sedan produced by Dongfeng Motor Corporation under the Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle sub-brand. The Dongfeng A9 sedan was previewed by the Dongfeng Number 1 sedan concept during the 2014 Beijing Auto Show. History The production version of the Dongfeng A9 debuted during the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show, and was originally planned to be available to the market from April 2016. The A9 was postponed to be launched in July 2016 with prices ranging from 177,900 yuan to 219,700 yuan. Powertrain The Dongfeng A9 is powered by a 1.6 liter THP turbocharged engine with 200 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque, connected to a six-speed automatic gearbox. This gives the Fengshen enough power for being a sporty and a family car at the same time. Citroën C6
The Citroën C6 is an executive car ( E) produced by the French car maker Citroën from 2005 to 2012. Production started up again in China in 2016, before ending in 2023. The Citroën C6 was inspired by the Citroën C6 Lignage concept car with fastback- saloon like styling. The C6 was inspired by the Citroën C6 Lignage prototype, which was first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in the spring of 1999, but can be differentiated due to a few minor details (such as the lack of suicide doors, which were present in the concept model). The C6 was intended to serve as a replacement for the late Citroën XM, and the company was intent on launching it before the end of the year 2000. History At the time, it was hoped that the C6 would go into production by the end of 2000, serving as the replacement for the ageing XM, which was first produced in May of 1989. In July 2007, ''Car'' ran a 2.7 litre V6 on its long term fleet and rated it for its "waftability" and comfortable interior, bu ...

Hybrid Electric Vehicle
A hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is a type of hybrid vehicle that couples a conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) with one or more electric engines into a hybrid vehicle drivetrain, combined propulsion system. The presence of the electric powertrain, which has inherently better energy conversion efficiency, is intended to achieve either better fuel economy in automobiles, fuel economy or better acceleration performance than a conventional vehicle. There is a variety of HEV types and the degree to which each functions as an electric vehicle (EV) also varies. The most common form of HEV is hybrid electric passenger cars, although hybrid electric trucks (pickup truck, pickups, tow trucks and tractors), buses, motorboats, and aircraft also exist. Modern HEVs use energy recovery technologies such as motor–generator units. and regenerative braking to recycle the vehicle's kinetic energy to electric energy via an alternator (automotive), alternator, which is energy storage, st ...
