Edelgave
Edelgave is a manor house situated just southwest of Smørumnedre, Egedal Municipality, 20 km northwest of central Copenhagen, Denmark. The current main building was designed by Andreas Kirkerup and is listed. History 17th century The area is first mentioned in 1307 when Cecilie Jonsdatter left it to Esrum Abbey in her will and the property is later known as Rompe. The property was from about 1600 owned by the crown. The farm was destroyed in the two Dano-Swedish Wars (1657-1660). In 1663, Frederick III granted the property to Admiral of the Realm Henrik Bjelke and his wife Edel Ylfeldt for life. Five years later, the king created a deed which ceded the property to Edel Ulfeldt and her descendants. It mentions the name "Edelgave" as the name of a future manor house at the site. Smørumnedre
Smørumnedre is a town and suburban area situated in Egedal Municipality in the northwestern outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark and forms part of Copenhagen's urban area. The original village has merged with the neighbouring villages of Måløv in Ballerup Municipality and Jonstrup in Furesø Municipality to form an urban agglomeration with a population of 20,657 (1 January 2022). The small and relatively undisturbed village of Smørumovre ("Upper Smørum") is located about 500 metres to the west of Smørumnedre while Lille Smørum("Little Smørum") refers to a group of scattered farms to the south. The three localities are collectively referred to as Smørum. History The name Smørum is first recorded in Canute IV's gift letter to the Bishop of Lund from 1085. Friederich Tutein
Johann Friederich Tutein (9 September 1757 – 6 March 1853) was a Danish merchant, ship-owner and industrialist. He managed the family's trading house under the name Fr. Tutein & Co. from 1799. It mainly traded on the Danish colonies with its own fleet of merchant ships. He owned the Tutein House at Vimmelskaftet in Copenhagen, the country house Rosendal in Østerbro and the manor house Edelgave. Early life and education Tutein was born into a wealthy merchant family in Copenhagen, the son of Peter Tutein (1726–99) and Pauline Maria Tutein née Rath (1725–99). His father had established a thriving trading house in 1747 and was also the owner of a textile factory in a partnership with Reinhard Iselin. Friederich Tutein was educated in his father's company. Thomas Madsen-Mygdal
Thomas Madsen-Mygdal (24 December 1876 – 23 February 1943) was a Danish politician from Venstre who served as Prime Minister of Denmark from 1926 to 1929. He was also Minister for Agriculture from 1920 to 1924 and again while concurrently being prime minister. Early life and education Madsen-Mygdal was born in Mygdal, Vendsyssel, the son of landstingsmand, statsrevisor N.P. Madsen-Mygdal (1835-1913) and Ane Kirstine Jacobsen (1839–1902). Andreas Kirkerup
Andreas Johannes Kirkerup (9 June 1749 – 22 October 1810) was a Danish architect and master builder, one of the most significant pupils of Caspar Frederik Harsdorff. Together with architects such as Andreas Hallander and Johan Martin Quist, he played a major role in the rebuilding of Copenhagen after the Great Fire of 1795. Early life and education Kirkerup was born in on 9 June 1749 Copenhagen, the son of carpenter Johannes Andreasen Kirkerup (død 1755) and Dorothea Pedersdatter Wiese. Henrik Bjelke
Henrik Bjelke (13 January 1615 – 16 March 1683) was a Norwegian military officer who served as Admiral of the Realm of Denmark-Norway from 1662 to 1679. He was in command of the Royal Dano-Norwegian Navy from 1657 to 1679. Early life and education Bjelke was born at Elingård Manor on Onsøy in Østfold, Norway.
