Ebby Halliday
Ebby Halliday (born Vera Lucille Koch; March 9, 1911 – September 8, 2015) was an American realtor and businesswoman who founded '' Ebby Halliday Realtors''. She was one of the first successful female entrepreneurs in Dallas and is recognized as the "First Lady of Real Estate". John S. Baen, a professor of real estate at the University of North Texas in Denton comments, ''she was the first woman to enter what was a chauvinistic profession in a macho state'' and that ''she beat those ol' boys at their own game.'' Halliday was born in Leslie, Arkansas, and graduated from high school in Abilene, Kansas, in 1929. She got a $10-a-week job selling women's hats at The Jones Store in Kansas City. In less than a year, she was the top salesperson. In 1938, she was asked to take over the millinery department at Dallas' W.A. Green Store. Soon she had her own Dallas boutique, Ebby's Hats. Murder Of Ebby Steppach
Ebby Jane Steppach (March 31, 1997 – October 25, 2015) was an American teenager who disappeared under mysterious circumstances in Little Rock, Arkansas. Days before her disappearance, she had accused four men of gang-raping her at a party she had attended. On October 25, 2015, she placed an erratic phone call to her older brother, Trevor; this was the last known contact anyone had with her. On October 27, her abandoned car was discovered in Chalamont Park in west Little Rock. Searches of the woods in the park were undertaken, but no sign of Steppach was found. She remained a missing person for nearly three years before her body was discovered in a drainage pipe in Chalamont Park in May 2018, in the immediate vicinity of where her car had been found. She had been dead since the time her car was found three years prior. Her death has been classified as a homicide. Edwin Throckmorton Thacher (29 April 1896 – 21 March 1966) (commonly known as Ebby Thacher or Ebby T.) was an old drinking friend and later the sponsor of Alcoholics Anonymous co-founder Bill Wilson. He is credited with introducing Wilson to the initial principles that AA would soon develop, such as "one alcoholic talking to another," and the Jungian thesis which was passed along to Rowland Hazard and, in turn, to Thacher that alcoholics could recover by a "genuine conversion". William Everett "Ebby" DeWeese (September 7, 1904 – July 18, 1942) was an American professional football player who played three seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Dayton Triangles and Portsmouth Spartans. Early life William Everett DeWeese was born on September 7, 1904, in Miamisburg, Ohio. He did not play college football. Professional career DeWeese signed with the Dayton Triangles of the National Football League (NFL) in 1927. Ebenezer Godfried Nelson-Addy (born 13 September 1992) is an English footballer who plays for side Bedford Town, where he plays as a midfielder. He is a product of the Aston Villa Academy. Career Youth career Nelson-Addy started his career at Aston Villa at the age of eight, ultimately being released in the summer of 2012 after twelve years. He was part of the Villa academy side that lost the 2010 FA Youth Cup final 3–2 on aggregate to Chelsea, playing 90 minutes at right midfield for both legs. Ebenezer Edwards (30 July 1884 – 6 July 1961) was a trade unionist and politician in Britain. Early life Born in Chevington, near Broomhill, Northumberland,''The Colliery Guardian and Journal of the Coal and Iron Trades'' (1931), Volume 143, p. 394. Edwards went down the coal mine at the age of 12. In 1906, he joined the Independent Labour Party, although he left after three years. In 1908, he attended Ruskin College in Oxford for ten months, but had to leave due to a lack of finances. After leaving the course, he became an early member of the Plebs' League and began to espouse Marxism. Later life Edwards continued working as a miner during World War I.
