Eagles Praha
Eagles Praha is a baseball team from Prague, Czech Republic. The team plays in the Czech Extraliga. History The club was established on 3 February 1981 in the Krč district of Prague as TJ Sokol Praha 4 – Krč. In 1984, the club built its current facilities in a piece of land in Krč. In 1991, the team changed its name to Sokol Krč. In 2000, the organization signed a sponsorship agreement with Altron, a Czech technological supplier, and changed its name to Krč Altron in 2001. For the 2009 season, the club dropped the sponsor title and changed its name to Eagles Praha. The Eagles have never won the Extraliga title, but were runners-up in 1999, 2004, 2012 and 2019. is an indoor stadium in Bunkyo, Tokyo, Japan. It was designed as a baseball stadium following its predecessor, Korakuen Stadium. 2023 World Baseball Classic
The 2023 World Baseball Classic (WBC), an international professional baseball tournament, is set to be the fifth iteration of the World Baseball Classic. It was originally set for 2021 (as per tradition to hold the event every four years), but was canceled in May 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was later announced that qualifications for the Classic would start in September 2022, as agreed by Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA). The tournament is being expanded from 16 to 20 national teams, with all teams that participated in the 2017 edition automatically qualifying, plus four additional spots. Marek Chlup (born January 9, 1999) is a Czech professional baseball outfielder in the Yomiuri Giants organization. He has previously played for the Lake Country DockHounds of the American Association of Professional Baseball. He also represents the Czech Republic national baseball team, Czech Republic national team. Martin Červenka (born 3 August 1992) is a Czech professional baseball catcher who plays for Tempo Praha of the Extraliga. He has played in Minor League Baseball for ten seasons and for the Czech Republic national baseball team in international competitions, such as the 2019 European Baseball Championship and 2023 World Baseball Classic. 2023 World Baseball Classic Qualification
The qualifying round of the 2023 World Baseball Classic will be held in September 2022. Teams which participated at the 2017 World Baseball Classic automatically qualified for the 2023 tournament. The qualifying round is to consist of two tournaments to be participated by six teams each. The qualifiers were planned to be hosted in Tucson, Arizona in the United States but after the delay, the qualifier hosts were changed to the cities of Regensburg, Germany and Panamá City, Panama. Winners and runners-up of each of the two tournaments were to qualify for the 2023 World Baseball Classic. The first qualifying tournament was originally scheduled to be held from March 13–18, 2020 and the second from March 20–25, 2020, before the qualifiers' postponement was announced on March 12, 2020 by Major League Baseball due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
