EZ Word
EZ Word was a word processor developed as part of the Andrew User Interface System, a user-interface research project jointly done by IBM and the Carnegie Mellon University. Originally developed for UNIX systems, it was the first graphical word processor available for Linux. Many people found the user interface quirky and difficult to learn. The program never really caught on, and the Andrew project stopped developing software in 1997. The last version of the AUIS suite, version 8.0, was never fully debugged, but is free software Free software, libre software, libreware sometimes known as freedom-respecting software is computer software distributed open-source license, under terms that allow users to run the software for any purpose as well as to study, change, distribut ... available under the MIT-CMU license. EZ-DOS
DR-DOS is a disk operating system for IBM PC compatibles, originally developed by Gary A. Kildall's Digital Research, Digital Research, Inc. and derived from Concurrent PC DOS 6.0, which was an advanced successor of CP/M-86. Upon its introduction in 1988, it was the first DOS that attempted to be Binary compatibility, compatible with IBM PC DOS and MS-DOS. Its first release was version 3.31, named so that it would match MS-DOS's then-current version. DR DOS 5.0 was released in 1990 as the first to be sold in retail; it was critically acclaimed and led to DR DOS becoming the main rival to Microsoft's MS-DOS, who quickly responded with its own MS-DOS 5.0 but releasing over a year later. It introduced a graphical user interface layer called ViewMAX. DR DOS 6.0 was released in 1991; then with Novell's acquisition of Digital Research, the following version was named Novell DOS 7.0 in 1994. After another sale, to Caldera (company), Caldera, updated versions were released partly op ...

EZ Canis Majoris
EZ Canis Majoris (abbreviated to EZ CMa, also designated as WR 6) is binary system in the constellation of Canis Major. The primary is a Wolf-Rayet star and it is one of the ten brightest Wolf-Rayet stars, brighter than apparent magnitude 7. Binary system L. W. Ross announced his discovery that the star's brightness varies, in 1961. EZ CMa has an apparent visual magnitude which varies between 6.71 and 6.95 over a period of 3.766 days, along with changes in the Astronomical spectroscopy, spectrum. It has been proposed that it could be a binary star, with a neutron star as companion that would complete an orbit around the Wolf-Rayet with that period, being the cause of those variations. The General Catalogue of Variable Stars lists it as a possible cataclysmic variable on this basis. It has been argued that the companion does not exist and spectral variations are caused by activity on the star's surface. Observations of the light variations over a four-mo ...

EZ Aquarii
EZ Aquarii is a triple star system from the Sun in the constellation Aquarius within the Milky Way. It is also known as Luyten 789-6, Gliese 866 and LHS 68. It is a variable star showing flares as well as smaller brightness changes due to rotation. The aggregate mass of the system is 0.3262±0.0018 solar masses. All three seem to have masses close to the hydrogen burning mass limit. William E. Kunkel announced that Luyten 789-6 was a flare star in 1972, after having observed seven flares. It was given its variable star designation, EZ Aquarii, in 1978. The configuration of the inner binary pair may permit a circumbinary planet to orbit near their habitable zone, however no exoplanets have yet been observed. EZ Aquarii is approaching the Solar System and, in about 32,300 years, will be at its minimal distance of about from the Sun. The ChView simulation shows that currently its nearest neighbouring star is Lacaille 9352 at about from EZ Aquarii. System All t ...

E-Z Sort Card
Edge-notched cards or edge-punched cards are a system used to store a small amount of binary or logical data on paper index cards, encoded via the presence or absence of notches in the edges of the cards. The notches allow efficient sorting of a large number of cards in a paper-based database, as well as the selection of specific cards matching multiple desired criteria. Unlike machine-readable punched cards, edge-notched cards were designed to be manually sorted by human operators. They are also informally called needle cards since they can be sorted with the help of long knitting needles. In the mid-20th century they were sold under names such as Cope-Chat cards, E-Z Sort cards, McBee Keysort cards, and Indecks cards. History An early instance of a methodology similar to edge-notched cards appeared in 1904. Edge-notched cards were used for specialized data storage and cataloging through much of the 20th century. They were gradually replaced by computer storage. Formats Card ...

The content repository core and user interface are rewritten, but retains the same concepts as the previous eZ Publish software as well as adding more functionality. The initial version of Ibexa DXP, then known as eZ Platform, was release ...

E–Z Notation
''E''–''Z'' configuration, or the ''E''–''Z'' convention, is the IUPAC preferred method of describing the absolute stereochemistry of double bonds in organic chemistry. It is an extension of ''cis''–''trans'' isomer notation (which only describes ''relative stereochemistry'') that can be used to describe double bonds having two, three or four substituents. E and Z notation are only used when a compound doesn't have two identical substituents. Following the Cahn–Ingold–Prelog priority rules (CIP rules), each substituent on a double bond is assigned a priority, then positions of the higher of the two substituents on each carbon are compared to each other. If the two groups of higher priority are on opposite sides of the double bond (''trans'' to each other), the bond is assigned the configuration ''E'' (from ''entgegen'', , the German word for "opposite"). If the two groups of higher priority are on the same side of the double bond (''cis'' to each other), the bond ...

EZ Communications
EZ Communications, Inc. was a corporation with its headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia. In the 1970s, the small company was one of the pioneers of the easy listening on the FM broadcasting radio spectrum with 2 stations in Manassas and Richmond. Within 25 years, the company grew to 20 stations across the United States. History FM broadcasting in the USA began in the 1930s. Although many broadcast radio stations had already been established in the AM frequency range, the use of FM radio offered higher sound quality. However until the 1970s, FM broadcast frequencies were primarily seen as investments in the future, with most of the self-supporting commercial stations simulcasting with AM stations. Few automobiles in the U.S. were equipped to receive FM signals until the early 1970s. Beautiful music was a mostly-instrumental music format that was prominent in American radio from the 1960s through the 1980s. "Mood music", "easy listening", "elevator music" and (inaccurately) "Muz ...

EZ Rock
EZ Rock was a brand of adult contemporary radio stations heard primarily in Canada. The branding was originally created by Telemedia in the mid-1990s for its AC stations, and based on the call sign of its former Toronto flagship CJEZ-FM (now adult hits-formatted CHBM-FM). Via acquisitions, control of the "EZ Rock" brand passed from Telemedia to Astral Media and later Bell Media. By 2021, as the majority of its owned-and-operated stations had been shifted to one of Bell Media's other standardized station formats, such as Pure Country, Move Radio ( AC, which replaced Ontario's final "EZ Rock" station CHRE-FM in St. Catharines, and Kelowna's CILK-FM), or Virgin Radio ( CHR/Top 40), the only remaining "EZ Rock" stations were in British Columbia. On May 18, 2021, the final "EZ Rock" stations flipped to adult hits under Bell's " Bounce Radio" brand. History Ownership of the EZ Rock brand passed from Telemedia to Standard Broadcasting in 2002, to Astral Media in 2007, and to ...
