E-Play
E-Play are a Serbian alternative rock band from Belgrade. History The band was formed in 1997, initially having several lineup changes before the lineup consisting of Biljana Todorovski (guitar, vocals), Maja Cvetković (bass guitar, vocals) and Jarboli member Nemanja Aćimović (drums) became the default one. The band also had a semi-official band member Sonja Lončar who played an analogue synthesizer until permanently leaving the band in 2002. With a unique musical style influenced by a diverse range of genres, and having a majority of female band members, E-Play quickly got the public's attention, establishing themselves on the Serbian alternative rock scene. As the winners of the 2000 Urban Demo festival, the band got the opportunity to release their eponymous debut album, produced by Goran Živković. Urgh! (band)
Urgh! is a Serbian grindcore/alternative rock band from Belgrade. History 1990s The band was formed in January 1991 in Belgrade as grindcore quartet. With heavy rotation on bass default members were Dragoslav Ružić "Guru Ghagi" (vocals), Ðorđe Smiljanić "Djolle"(guitar) and Dejan Stanisavljević "Stanna" (drums). The band got the name from a typical onomatopoeic word ''URGH!'' frequently used in comicbooks. Their debut recordings, the tracks "Acid Rain" and "Paradise Town", appeared on the various artists compilation album ''Tito nikada više'' ('' Tito Nevermore''), released by Intermusic in 1992. ''Munje!'' (Serbian Cyrillic: Муње; English: ''Dudes'' or ''Thunderbirds'') is a 2001 film directed by Radivoje Andrić. The main cast include Boris Milivojević, Sergej Trifunović, Nikola Đuričko, Maja Mandžuka, Milica Vujović, Zoran Cvijanović and Nebojša Glogovac. Jarboli ( sr-cyr, Јарболи; trans. '' The Masts'') is a Serbian alternative rock band from Belgrade. History 1990s The band was formed in 1991 by Daniel Kovač (guitar, vocals), Boris Mladenović (guitar, vocals), Žolt Kovač (bass guitar), and Nemanja Aćimović (drums) who, influenced by garage rock and punk rock, started to compose their own material and to perform in Belgrade clubs, mainly the club Bunker, Ljudmila Stratimirović fashion shows, and as a frequent opening act for Obojeni Program and Instant Karma. Presing is a Serbian alternative rock band from Belgrade. Formed in 1990 and named after pressure defense in basketball (and some other team sports), Presing were, together with Darkwood Dub and Kanda, Kodža i Nebojša, representatives of the so-called ''NeoBeo'' sound, alternative, guitar-based rock music produced in Belgrade in early 1990s. U Škripcu ( sr-cyr, У Шкрипцу; trans. ''In Dire Straits'') was a Yugoslav rock band formed in Belgrade in 1980. Asian Dub Foundation (ADF) is an English electronic music band that combines musical styles including rap rock, dub, dancehall, ragga, and South Asian music. The group also includes traditional rock instruments such as electric bass and guitar, which acknowledges a punk rock influence. Their music is known for its dub-inspired basslines, guitar parts inspired by the traditional Indian instrument the sitar, and fast rapping. Monteniggers
Monteniggers was a hip-hop band from Kotor, Montenegro, then Yugoslavia. Originally the band consisted of Igor Lazić, Nebojša Saveljić, and Duško Nikolić, also known under the pseudonyms "Lucky Boy", "Sky", and "Ducka", respectively. Nikolić soon got ill and couldn't perform, though he co-wrote songs. Even though the band's period of activity is generally taken to be 1994–1999, the band was actually formed in 1988 under the name "Brake Boys". One year later they changed the name to AE:Tell me, and then changed it yet again to Monteniggers. In 1996, soon after the release of their debut album, Nikolić died of leukemia, prompting the two other members to release a song dedicated to him on their second album in 1998, called "Voljeli bi da si tu" ("We Wish You Were Here"). Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s.
