U Škripcu
U Škripcu ( sr-cyr, У Шкрипцу; trans. ''In Dire Straits'') was a Yugoslav rock band formed in Belgrade in 1980. The band was formed in 1980 by Milan Delčić "Delča" (vocals), Aleksandar Vasiljević "Vasa" (guitar) and Zoran Vulović "Vule" (keyboards), the lineup soon being expanded with Aleksandar Lukić (bass guitar) and Miloš Obrenović (drums). At the time of their formation, the band was a part of the Yugoslav new wave scene, attracting the attention of the public with their artistic live performances and appearing on the seminal 1981 various artists compilation album '' Artistička radna akcija''. With the debut album release, the 1982 ''Godine ljubavi'', the band moved towards a more experimental post-punk sound, before achieving nationwide commercial success with the release of the 1983 album ''O je!'' and EP ''Nove godine!'', heavily influenced by New Romanticism. Familija ( sr-cyr, Фамилија; trans. ''Family'') was a Serbian rock supergroup from Belgrade, consisting of Vampiri, Košava and U Škripcu members. The band's musical style was a combination of ska, pop, ethnic and rock music. History The band was founded in late 1993 by U Škripcu members Aleksandar "Vasa" Vasiljević (guitar), Aleksandar "Luka" Lukić (bass) and Ratko Ljubičić (drums) along with former Vampiri members Dejan "Peja" Pejović (vocals), Dejan "Dexy" Petrović (vocals) and drummer/percussionist Goran "Gedža" Redžepi. RTV Studio B
RTV Studio B, more often called Studio B ( sr-cyr, Студио Б), is a radio and television broadcaster in Belgrade, Serbia. It was the first broadcast station outside the national electronic media system. Background RTV Studio B broadcasts in a radius of 100 km around Belgrade, covering an area in which there are three million viewers. One notable program was "Good Morning, Belgrade" ( sr, Beograde dobro jutro), which was launched in 1975. History Studio B was launched as a radio station in 1970 by the journalists from the Borba group. In 1972, it became a corporation owned by Belgrade's Municipal Council. Erinyes
The Erinyes ( ; sing. Erinys ; grc, Ἐρινύες, pl. of ), also known as the Furies, and the Eumenides, were female chthonic deities of vengeance in ancient Greek religion and mythology. A formulaic oath in the '' Iliad'' invokes them as "the Erinyes, that under earth take vengeance on men, whosoever hath sworn a false oath". Supergroup (music)
A supergroup is a musical group whose members are successful as solo artists or as members of other successful groups. The term became popular in the late 1960s when members of already successful rock groups recorded albums together, after which they normally disband. Charity supergroups, in which prominent musicians perform or record together in support of a particular cause, have been common since the 1980s. The term is most common context of rock and pop music, but it has occasionally been applied to other musical genres. The Yugoslav Wars were a series of separate but related Naimark (2003), p. xvii. ethnic conflicts, wars of independence, and insurgencies that took place in the SFR Yugoslavia from 1991 to 2001. The conflicts both led up to and resulted from the breakup of Yugoslavia, which began in mid-1991, into six independent countries matching the six entities known as republics which previously composed Yugoslavia: Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, and North Macedonia (previously named ''Macedonia''). New Romanticism
The New Romantic movement was an underground subculture movement that originated in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s. The movement emerged from the nightclub scene in London and Birmingham at venues such as Billy's and The Blitz. The New Romantic movement was characterised by flamboyant, eccentric fashion inspired by fashion boutiques such as Kahn and Bell in Birmingham and PX in London. Early adherents of the movement were often referred to by the press by such names as Blitz Kids, New Dandies and Romantic Rebels. Influenced by David Bowie, Marc Bolan and Roxy Music, the New Romantics developed fashions inspired by the glam rock era coupled with the early Romantic period of the late 18th and early 19th century (from which the movement took its name). New wave in Yugoslavia ( sr-Cyrl-Latn, Нови талас, Novi talas; hr, Novi val; sl, Novi val; mk, Нов бран) was the new wave music scene of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. As its counterparts, the British and the American new wave, from which the main influences came, the Yugoslav scene was also closely related to punk rock, ska, reggae, 2 Tone, power pop and mod revival. Some of its acts are also counted as belonging to the Yugoslav punk scene which already existed prior to new wave. Such artists were labeled as both punk rock and new wave (the term "new wave" was initially interchangeable with "punk").
