Dustin Allard Degree
Dustin Allard Degree (born February 12, 1985) is a Politics of the United States, politician from the city of St. Albans (city), Vermont, St. Albans in the U.S. state of Vermont. A Republican Party (United States), Republican, he represented St. Albans in the Vermont General Assembly during the 2011-2012 biennial session. Degree graduated from Bellows Free Academy, St. Albans in 2003, attended the Tilton School in 2004, and attended Norwich University and the University of Vermont. He worked in the office of Governor Jim Douglas. In June 2010, Degree left his job in the governor's office to run for the Vermont House of Representatives, seeking the Franklin-3 District seat in the General Assembly to represent St. Albans City. He cited fiscal responsibility and the need to provide more opportunities to young Vermonters as his top priorities during the campaign. Vermont Senate
The Vermont Senate is the upper house of the Vermont General Assembly, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Vermont. The senate consists of 30 members. Senate districting divides the 30 members into three single-member districts, six two-member districts, three three-member districts, and one six-member district. Each senator represents at least 20,300 citizens. Senators are elected to two-year terms and there is no limit to the number of terms that a senator may serve. As in other upper houses of state and territorial legislatures and the U.S. Senate, the state senate of Vermont has special functions, such as confirming or rejecting gubernatorial appointments to executive departments, the state cabinet, commissions, and boards, as well as electing members to the Vermont Supreme Court. Phil Scott (politician)
Philip Brian Scott (born August 4, 1958) is an American politician, businessman and stock car racer who has served as the 82nd governor of Vermont since 2017. A member of the Republican Party, he was elected governor in the 2016 general election with 53% of the vote. He was reelected in 2018 with 55.2% and in 2020 with 68.5% of the vote and a margin of 41%, the largest of any Vermont gubernatorial election since 1996, and the largest for a Republican since 1950. He was overwhelmingly reelected again in 2022, increasing his vote share and margin of victory, this time taking 71.3% of the vote and a margin of victory of 47%. Norm McAllister
Norman H. McAllister (born 1951) is an American politician who was a member of the Vermont Senate. He represented the Alburgh-Franklin district in Northwest Vermont. He was elected to the state legislature in 2002. He was suspended in 2015 after being arrested on sexual assault charges. Despite his suspension, he ran for reelection in 2016, but lost. After four separate criminal trials, McAllister was cleared of all charges. Legislative career McAllister was elected to the Vermont House in 2002 and to the Senate in 2012, attracting little media attention as a legislator. In the House, McAllister sat on the Health and Human Services Committee, and was instrumental in reforming Vermont's child custody laws to make it easier for at-risk children to be placed in the custody of their relatives, rather than the state.
