Duduzane Zuma
Duduzane Zuma (born 20 May 1982) is the son of the former president of South Africa, Jacob Zuma, and the twin brother of Duduzile Zuma. Biography Zuma came to prominence between 2007 and 2009 when his father became the president of the African National Congress and later the President of South Africa, after which Zuma became the director of a number of South African businesses. Controversy In 2014, the Randburg Magistrates Court found that Zuma's negligence had led to the deaths of 30-year-old Phumzile Dube and later Jeanette Mashaba when his Porsche collided with a taxi. The National Prosecuting Authority declined to prosecute. In July 2018, his culpable homicide case was reopened after he arrived back in South Africa for a family funeral. His passport was withdrawn and he has appeared in the Randburg Magistrates Court several times since. Maputo (), formerly named Lourenço Marques until 1976, is the capital, and largest city of Mozambique. Pravin Jamnadas Gordhan (born 12 April 1949) is a politician and anti-apartheid activist who has held various ministerial posts in the Cabinet of South Africa. Zulu People
Zulu people (; zu, amaZulu) are a Nguni people, Nguni ethnic group native to Southern Africa. Zondo Commission
The Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Allegations of State Capture, Corruption and Fraud in the Public Sector including Organs of State, better known as the Zondo Commission or State Capture Commission, is a public inquiry established in January 2018 by former President Jacob Zuma to investigate allegations of state capture, corruption, and fraud in the public sector in South Africa. By December 2020, the commission had interviewed 278 witnesses and collected 159,109 pages and one exabyte of data as evidence. It received eight extensions to finish its report, with 15 June 2022 being the end of its mandate. The first part of the report was published on 4 January 2022. Vrede Dairy Project
The Vrede Dairy Project is a dairy project established in 2012 on Krynaauwslust Farm, near the town of Vrede, Free State Province, South Africa. The dairy was established as a public-private partnership with Estina, a Black Economic Empowerment company, as part of the Free State provincial government's agricultural project, ''Mohoma-Mobung''. Estina was given the land under a free 99 year lease. The aim of the R250m dairy project was to empower black farmers, but bank statements show that no payments were made to black beneficiaries. The dairy farm was just a shell through which money was sent to India. State Capture
State capture is a type of systemic political corruption in which private interests significantly influence a state's decision-making processes to their own advantage. The term was first used by the World Bank, around the year 2000, to describe the situation in certain Central Asian countries making the transition from Soviet communism. Specifically, it was applied to situations where small corrupt groups used their influence over government officials to appropriate government decision-making in order to strengthen their own economic positions; these groups' members would later become known as oligarchs.
