Droitwich Spa Football Club is a association football, football club representing the town of Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire, England. They are currently members of the and played at King George V Fields until 2017. For the 2017/18 season they ground shared with Stourport Swifts F.C. at Stourport Swifts F.C., Stourport Swifts' Walshes Meadow. The club returned to Droitwich during the 2022/23 season with the completion of redevelopment work at their King George V ground. The ground was officially opened on 10 November 2022 by former England national football team player and manager, Kevin Keegan. The team are known as 'The Saltmen'. The Worcestershire Senior Cup (officially ''The Worcestershire Football Association Senior Invitation Cup'') is a football competition organised by the Worcestershire County Football Association. It began in the 1893-94 season, with Redditch Town taking the first honours. Due to the dearth of professional clubs within the county, few professional teams have taken part, though Walsall, Aston Villa, and Kidderminster Harriers are past winners. The Senior Cup is the more senior of the county's two main cups, and at present entry is restricted to those clubs which are affiliated to the County FA and compete in the Southern Football League or higher. The Football Association Challenge Vase, usually referred to as the FA Vase, is an annual football competition for teams playing in Steps 5 and 6 of the English National League System (or equivalently, tier 9 or 10 of the overall English football league system). Droitwich Spa (often abbreviated to Droitwich ) is an historic spa town in the Wychavon district in northern Worcestershire, England, on the River Salwarpe. It is located approximately south-west of Birmingham and north-east of Worcester. The town was called Salinae in Roman times, then later called Wyche, derived from the Anglo-Saxon Hwicce kingdom, referred to as "Saltwich" according to Anglo-Saxon charters, with the Droit (meaning "right" in French) added when the town was given its charter on 1 August 1215 by King John. The "Spa" was added in the 19th century when John Corbett developed the town's spa facilities. Midland Football Alliance
The Midland Football Alliance was an English association football league for semi-professional teams. It covered Leicestershire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands, Worcestershire and also southern parts of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. The league consisted of a single division which sat at Step 5 of the National League System, or the ninth level of the overall English football league system. The league was formed in 1994, drawing its initial membership from the strongest clubs in the Midland Football Combination and the West Midlands (Regional) League, both of which became feeder leagues to the new competition. Each season, the champion club of each feeder league was eligible for promotion to the Alliance, and Alliance clubs could in turn be relegated to the feeder leagues.
