Dread (film)
''Dread'' is a 2009 British horror film directed and written by Anthony DiBlasi and starring Jackson Rathbone, Shaun Evans and Hanne Steen, based on the short story of the same name by Clive Barker. The story was originally published in 1984 in volume two of Barker's ''Books of Blood'' short story collections. Plot At a small college, psychology major Stephen Grace meets fellow student Quaid, who reveals his plan to conduct a "fear study" as a school project and record people as they talk about their greatest fears. Quaid, however, is mentally unstable and nearly obsessed with fear. Quaid had seen his parents killed by an axe murderer as a child; this is his greatest fear, and he wants to learn what others dread and how they deal with it in order to find a way to defy his own dread. Anthony DiBlasi
Anthony DiBlasi is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter known for his work in horror films. He made his directorial debut in 2009 with the film ''Dread (film), Dread'', based on the Books of Blood#"Dread", 1984 short story of the same name by English novelist and filmmaker Clive Barker. DiBlasi also directed and co-wrote the 2014 film ''Last Shift'' and the 2018 film ''Extremity (film), Extremity''. Life and career DiBlasi was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, where he graduated from film school at Emerson College. While in the program, he held an internship with Marvel Studios in Los Angeles, California, around the time that the 2002 film ''Spider-Man (2002 film), Spider-Man'' was in post-production.
