Doubles (2000 Film)
''Doubles'' is a 2000 Indian Tamil-language comedy film written and directed by Pandiarajan, who also played a guest appearance in the film. Produced by K. Rajan, the film stars Prabhu Deva, Meena, and Sangeetha, while Vivek, Manivannan, and Kovai Sarala play supporting roles. The film's score and soundtrack are composed by debutant Srikanth Deva. The film was released on 11 August 2000. Plot The movie starts projecting Prabhu as a shopkeeper who sells toys to kids. He does all possible crazy actions in the world, which really irritates everyone. He has many bad habits, such as drinking and smoking. Prabhu marries Meena, but she wants her husband to be like Sree Ram. Prabhu acts as if he is a nice guy and also gets caught a few times when he tries to overact. R. Pandiarajan is an Indian actor, director and comedian who has played leading roles in many humorous Tamil films and plays supporting and comedy roles. Personal life Pandiarajan was born to Sulochana in Saidapet, Chennai in a lower-middle-class family. He has two sisters, Maheshwari and Geetha. ''Kalki'' is a Tamil-language weekly magazine published from Chennai, India. The magazine was established by Kalki Krishnamurthy, a popular Tamil novelist and Indian freedom fighter, in 1941. T Sadasivam was the magazine's co-founder. The magazine is known for its publication of historic novels such as '' Ponniyin Selvan'' and '' Sivagamiyin Sabadham''. Singer Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, guru of M S Subbulakshmi, and music critic S V Seshadri were also involved with the magazine in its coverage of music. Harini (born 30 April 1979) is an Indian film playback and classical singer born and raised in Chennai. She sings predominantly in Tamil films, besides other language films such as Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films. She was first noticed by music director A. R. Rahman at a school competition where she was one among the winners. Eventually, she was signed in to record the song "Nila Kaigiradhu" for the film '' Indira'' (1995) when she was 15.
