Dorset Cereals is a British manufacturer of breakfast cereals, based in Poole in Dorset, England. The company was founded in 1989 by Terry Crabb and manufactures muesli, porridge, and granola. Its products are exported to more than 70 countries. History Dorset Cereals was started by Terry Crabb from his garage in 1989. The company has experienced significant growth, especially in export markets. From 2000, the company was based at a purpose-built barn factory in Poundbury. In 2012, Associated British Foods purchased the company for £50 million from its private equity owners, Langholm Capital. The company is now part of The Jordans, Dorset & Ryvita Company subsidiary of ABF. In 2018 production moved to Poole. The company runs the Dorset Cereals B&B Awards which recognises the best bed and breakfasts in the UK. Poundbury
Poundbury is an experimental planned community or urban extension on the western outskirts of Dorchester in the county of Dorset, England. The development is led by the Duchy of Cornwall, and had the keen endorsement of King Charles III when he was Prince of Wales and Duke of Cornwall. Under the direction of its lead architect and planner Léon Krier, its design is based on traditional architecture and New Urbanist philosophy. Due for completion in 2025, it is expected to house a population of 6,000. Poundbury currently provides employment for over 2,000 people in over 180 businesses. Poundbury has been praised for reviving the low-rise streetscape built to the human scale and for echoing traditional local design features, but it has not reduced car use, as originally intended. Action on Sugar is a registered UK charity formed in 2014 by a group of specialists concerned about sugar and its impact on health. Through research and lobbying the group works to highlight the harmful effects of a high sugar diet and desirability of reducing the amount of added sugar contained in processed foods. Spelt (''Triticum spelta''), also known as dinkel wheat or hulled wheat, is a species of wheat that has been cultivated since approximately 5000 BC. Léon Krier
Léon Krier CVO (born 7 April 1946) is a Luxembourgish architect, architectural theorist, and urban planner, a prominent critic of modernist architecture and advocate of New Classical architecture and New Urbanism. Krier combines an international architecture and planning practice with writing and teaching. He is well-known for his master plan for Poundbury, in Dorset, England. He is the younger brother of architect Rob Krier. Poole () is a large coastal town and seaport in Dorset, on the south coast of England. The town is east of Dorchester and adjoins Bournemouth to the east.
